I haven't understood a bar of music in my life, but I have felt it

I know that the twelve notes in each octave and the variety of rhythm offer me opportunities that all of human genius will never exhaust.

Topic: NEWS performers

Massimo La Rosa, of La Fenice opera house in Venice, played principal trombone with the Cleveland Orchestra as it performed the Symphony No. 2 by Johannes Brahms and Alban Berg's Chamber Concerto in May. La Rosa's participation was the final stage of his audition. He was among 27 musicians who tried out for the post in the last two years. After La Rosa's week in Cleveland, music director Franz Welser-MOst decided to extend the job offer.
