EVANS are all sex objects (i.e. we don't object to sex!), we're based on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border and were formed in May '98 by Mick Wilson in order to showcase and promote his songwriting skills, being an extension of his previous band, Deliverance, with whom he'd recorded a tape consisting of covers and original material.
We spent the next few months gigging locally to promote this "Out Late" cassette, and have managed to gain a good following who seem to appreciate our no-nonsense approach to live music. Mick appears to write a new song everytime he sits down! and we are continually including these in our set.
Apart from headlining our own gigs, we've supported several bands and are quite happy to play multiple band gigs and the like, and have also managed to gain record company interest, and are currently negotiating with a music publisher (we're keeping everything crossed!).
We play mainly original material with a few "rock classic" covers thrown in for good measure, and have been described as a cross between the Stones and the Bluetones with a hint of the Manic Street Preachers and the Georgia Satellites. (what!?!).
We are continuing to gig locally and are always interested in finding additional venues in which to "show-off!", so if any promoter out there would like to book us for a gig or two, then just click on the "contact" section.
