CURRENT MISSION: 8/22/01: Stardate 54601.2 "Haven of the Harbinger" - The USS Victorious is sent to Khitomer to assist on Klingon refugees.

MISSION SUMMARY:

The Borg commense an invasion of the Klingon Empire. Attacking their far borders, millions flee from the invading cubes and out of the Empire, converging on the birthplace of interstellar peace: Khitomer.

Meanwhile, unaware of the Borg invasion, the Federatio recieves a frantic call warning them of the millions of refugees about to pile into neutral space near the Ganeric Corridor - the origin of the Victorious's very first mission.

Rear Admiral Andrews and the crew of the USS Victorious have been given the responsibility for coordinating a relief effort. With nowhere to place the refugees, the planet Khitomer is selected to move the Klingon refugees, with the Romulans ominously watching over.

Overwhelmed with refugees, the crew of the USS Victorious discover that it is the Borg who have invaded. A massive intersteller alert is immediately established, and the Federation scrambles their fleets for a defensive. The staging point of one of the main fleets: Khitomer.

Andrews and his crew is met with the likes of Picard and the Enterprise, and Janeway and the Voyager, to defend the Alpha quadrant from its most feared enemy: the Borg.

8/13/01: Stardate 54598.1 "Celebration of Life" - The USS Victorious celebrates the birth of Terra Steel, daughter of Reiko Kaori and Mark Steel. The new family move into family quarters

8/20/01: Stardate 54512.4 "Endless Sky" - The USS Victorious The USS Victorious helps to recover a stolen experimental Romulan warbird stolen by Starfleet Intelligence.

The USS Victorious has "detected increased Romulan military activity in disputed-neutral territory." Little has been reported from news sources on the Victorious, however, it has been confirmed that the "Romulan military activity" involved three Romulan ships. Whether it was directed amongst themselves is still a mystery. We'll keep you in touch with the details as they come in.

MISSION SUMMARY:

The IRV Velarus, a prototype strike Warbird equipped with the latest in Romulan technology, is stolen during military trials at one of the Star  Empire's most secure deep-space proving grounds.  After a massive Tal Shiar  attempt to locate the ship fails to produce results, the scout ship Lokara  discovers it, running towards Starbase 173, a Federation intelligence facility.  The craft is heavily damaged by the cruiser, and the crew barely escapes with their lives.

Enter the Victorious.  They recieve a distress call from the scout, and her captain enlists their help in recovering the ship.  It is not revealed at first that the craft employed multi-vector assault characteristics that were based on data from the Romulan heist of the USS Prometheus in 2374.  Also, it is discovered that the theft was an operation commissioned by Starfleet Intelligence, not Section 31 as some (might) suspect.

As the scout will require too much time to repair, her captain asks that her crew be taken aboard the Victorious, while ordering her own ship to self-destruct.  This might cause problems, as many Victorious crewmembers have had unpleasant experiences with the Romulans, and 200 years of cold war haven't helped racial tensions any.

I've always liked the Romulans.  Don't know why.  I want to give them a chance to be more than just the devious evil aliens of the week.  Naturally, there's going to be a lot of unhappiness on both sides with a couple dozen Romulans coming aboard ship, and the 'spy versus spy' aspect of the mission is going to look into the dark sides of both nations.  And of course, lots of fun for everyone in trying to hunt down and capture this rogue Romulan ship.

8/15/01: Stardate 54507.2 "Business as Usual" - The crew celebrates life.

In this installment of "Business as Usual", a party is thrown in honor of the engagement of Dr. Rebecca Adams-T'Mawra and Commander Jonathon W. Lance. The party was held in the Downtime, the ship's main lounge, and was attended by a whole mass of the crew. Lieutenant Tandy and Gunnery Sergeant Del Rio return to the ship.

8/01/01: Stardate 54504.6 "Outlaw's Fortune" - The USS Victorious investigates the disappearance of Federation weapons and the USS Firehawk

On Stardate 54504.6, the USS Firehawk came under attack by members of a heretofore unknown crime syndicate.  The ship's defenses were overcome quickly, and the crew taken captive.  However, most frightening was the fact that the ship's cargo, five transphasic torpedoes, was captured along with the ship.

The USS Victorious, under command of Rear Admiral Terran Andrews, was in the Treylor sector nearby, attempting to gain rights to inspect debris left over from a battle between the Federation and Dominion, three years ago.  While still unaware of the Firehawk's capture, they discovered that the starship graveyard had in fact been raided, the ships stripped of anything of value. Meanwhile, the same mystery drew in the starship Argo under Captain Andrew Kramer, which had discovered Federation weapons and equipment in the hands of Klingon militants.  Their investigation revealed that, in the years since the war, a crime syndicate had emerged in the sector, selling off Federation equipment to highest bidders in two quadrants.

While the news was already serious, the discovery that the USS Firehawk and her cargo had been captured changed the whole playing field.  Shortly thereafter, a transphasic detonation was recorded on Nimbus III - the world established a century ago as 'the Planet of Galactic Peace.'  Due to the sparse population of the world, casualties were light, but the significance of the event cannot be understated, as it showed that civilian forces were in possession of the most powerful weapons ever employed by a civilized race.

Imprisoned on a planet known as Garbonious IV, the crew incited a rebellion against their captors.  At heavy cost, they managed to send a distress message which alerted the other Starfleet ships to their location.  A team was dispatched immediately from the Victorious, and the two ships themselves rushed to the scene as soon as they could deal with the perpetrators of Nimbus III: a small pirate vessel, ill-equipped to handle a pair of Federation starships but for a single transphasic torpedo, which could destroy its assailants in an instant if the two captains did not take extreme care.  And in the mean time, the crime lords found their first client - a single torpedo made its way for a Klingon battlecruiser waiting on the other side of the border.

Once the Argo and Victorious - Kelvin and Sovereign-class starships respectively - learned of the whereabouts of the crime syndicate and brought their full power to bear against them, the two remaining torpedoes were recovered and the situation was resolved quickly, with minimal casualties for the Victorious and Argo.  However, the same cannot be said for the Firehawk, who lost her captain, Commander Yu-Xsin Chen, and all but ten members of her crew in the incident.  The final torpedo was destroyed along with the warships that carried it, when Admiral Andrews ordered its detonation in order to prevent the Klingons from escaping with it.  The situation in the Treylor sector has now been handed over to the Federation authorities.

Starfleet Command has yet to comment on the incident.
