"Hey Lex, what's happenin?"
"Oh, hi Chad."
"Well, don't sound so excited."
"Sorry, Nick was suppose to call and I thought you were him."
"Ahh...not as important as the cute famous one..huh...I feel luved."
"Did you need something Chad?"
"I was callin to see how it was going."
"Oh, it's goin good.
"So, how's it goin with the new found man?"
Alex laughed, "Good."
"So, are you going to tell me what happened?"
"Well, we went to the mall had a lot of fun, he asked me out, kissed me, ate, rented a movie, fell asleep, he brought me home, kiss me, and I forgot my bag so he brought it by this morning before he left, kissed me goodbye, said he would call me tonight, and he'll be back next week. Alex answered without taking a breath.
"Wow! Sounds like you had a busy day, he kissed you 3 times?!?
Alex laughed, "Yep, 3 times."
"This guy doesn't take it slow. He must really like you."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean when I like a girl it takes me a long time to get up enough courage to ask her out, and then to kiss her that's a big step. I guess we don't want to be rejected."
"Well, neither do chics."
"Yeah, I know. I was thinking yesterday, this is the 1st guy you've liked in a long time..."
"Yeah, I just gave up on finding somebody that fit my Prince Charming, someone how could make me smile and be happy. Honestly Chad I didn't think someone like that existed, but it's so weird when I'm around Nick."
"Oh, I think I'm gonna cry." Chad said in a mocking voice.
"Oh shut up, you're just jealous."
"You are right I am, I hope I can find a chic like that someday."
Alex’s other line beeped, "Oh hold on a sec."
She flipped over and completely forgot about Nick calling, so she was surprised when she heard his voice, "Hey."
Alex didn't know what to say, "uh Hi."
"You sound surprised."
"Well, I kinda gave up on you calling tonight."
"I told ya I would."
"I know, but I thought you might be spending time with your family."
"I have and I will, but I told you I would call, so I called."
"To tell you the truth you are the only guy that has ever called me when he said he would. I guess they usually find something better to do."
"I couldn't think of anything I’d rather do."
"Hmm.." was really all Alex said in reply
"Oh, I wanted to ask you a question."
"Yeah, what?"
"Do you like butterflies?"
"Butterflies? Yeah I like them, why?"
"I just noticed that a lot of your stuff had butterflies on it and wondered if you liked them."
"Yeah, I like butterflies and unicorns."
"Unicorns?"
"Yep."
"Interesting, I think I will draw you a picture."
Alex laughed, "Okay.." she said not knowing really what he meant.
"What are doing next Monday?"
"Um, school."
"Oh yeah I forgot about that. Would you want to skip?"
"What would I be skipping for?"
"We have a photo shoot and stuff, I was going to see if you wanted to come."
Alex didn't know what to say, but she knew it wouldn't be no. I can't believe this it happening she thought, but calmly said, "Um, if I won't be in the way."
"Oh, you won't be in the way."
"You're sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Where are my makers!"
"huh?"
"I can't find my markers."
"For what?"
"For your picture."
"Oh." Alex still had no idea what he was doing, and didn't want to know. "Nick?"
"Yeah?"
"Um, do you think we're moving kind moving fast?"
"fast? I dunno, do you think we are?
"I dunno, I was just talking to my friend Chad and he said he thought we were moving fast. OH!! He's on the other line!! Hold on." She flipped over, "Chad?" there was no answer so she flipped back over. She was fixing to say something when she heard nick singing to himself. She listened for a minute until he had stopped, "Hello?"
"Yeah, I'm still here."
"Okay."
Nick sighed, "Alex if you think we are moving fast we can slow it down some, but it's like I've known you for my whole life."
"I don't think we are moving to fast."
"If you ever think it is going fast don't be afraid to just tell me."
"Okay."
"Alexis, I'm really sorry, but I have to go. I'm sorry."
"Oh that's okay, I understand."
"I'll try to call you this week, and I'll defiantly call you before Monday."
"Okay Bye."
"Bye."
She waited until she heard the click and hung up. Monday I'm going to spend the day with him!! What if the other guys think I'm an idiot? What if I screw up? What if Nick just decides that I'm not good enough for him? Alex fell asleep thinking of all this and more...
