Nick told Aaron he would be right back and jogged back to the house. "It's on the table." His mom yelled after hearing him enter the house. "Thanks mom."
He glanced at envelope, it was from Orlando. His first thought was it was from Brian, but why would Brian send him a letter? Then Nick remembered what Alex said about something waiting in his mailbox. He walked to his room and opened the letter. He read it and then read it again. He stood in his room and his mind flashed pictures of him and Alex together. He remembered her laugh, smile, the way she fit so nicely in his arms when he kissed her, and how cute she looked when she was asleep. Nick stared out the window not really seeing anything while his mind kept flashing the images of them together.

Alex was walking down the hall to 6th period when she was almost attacked by Christy, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING ALEXIS MACKENZIE PAINE?!?"
Alex looked at her blankly, "What are you talking about?"
"Does the name Nick Carter ring a bell?!?" Christy asked thru clenched teeth
"What about him?" Alex asked not wanting to say anything about it.
"Oh the fact that you ran into him, he asked you out, you spent the day together, and he KISSED you!!"
Several people were watching them now and Alex lowered her voice as she said, "How did you know about that?"
"I got it out of Chad! It took me 2 days but he finally spilled his guts. It was kinda obvious-you go from acting weird to being on cloud 9. I can't believe you didn't tell me." Christy said looking hurt
"I wanted to tell you, but..." Alex stopped and tried a different approach, "Chris, if you met Kevin spent a day with him and he kissed you, would you tell everybody?"
"Of course I would." Christy answered
"yep, sure will."
Christy smiled, "Okay, I'll talk to you later."
"Chris, please don't tell everyone, I don't want this to get out."
"Okay, I'll try at least."
Alex watched Christy walk away and knew that by Monday the whole school would probably know. She walked to 6 period and tried not to think about it, but she couldn't stop her mind from wandering thoughts of Nick.

Alex walked to her car with her armful of books. Thank God it's Friday, she thought to herself. She got in her car and then noticed her cell phone was flashing that she had a message. I wonder who that could be, she thought as she hit the button and listened to the message.
"Alex, its Nick. I called your house and your mom gave me the cell number. I just wanted to tell you that I'll be in Orlando Sunday night I was going to come by if you didn't have any plans. You can call me back whenever.
Alex listened as he left the number and said good bye.
She smiled, he even sounded cute on the phone. She laughed, "I'm falling way to hard for this guy." she told the empty car. She turned the CD player on and sang along to Larger Than Life on the way home.
She walked in the front door to hear her mom calling her name. "Alex, some guy called on your line today and I gave him your cell number, was that okay?"
"Yeah mom, I got the message thanks." She went up stairs to her room, dropped her books on the floor and picked up the phone to call Nick.
It rang 4 times before a little voice said, "Hello?"
Alex thought she may have had the wrong number, "Um, is Nick there?" She asked a little uncertain
"Yes, hold on just a second." She heard the phone being sat down and the voice screamed at Nick. She heard someone answer and then the voice came back, "May I ask you is calling?"
"yeah, this is Alex."
"IT'S ALEX!!" the voice screamed in her ear. Alex held the phone back a little. "Are you guy or a girl?"
Alex was surprised at the question but answered, "a girl."
"and your names Alex?"
"it's short for Alexis." She answered trying not to laugh
"Oh. That's a pretty name."
"Thank you."
"I'm Aaron, Nick's my big brother."
"Hi Aaron, now how old are you?"
"I'm 11, but I’ll be 12 in Dec."
"Ahh..are you going to have a big party?"
"If my mom will let me."
Alex was about to ask him another question when she heard Nick's voice.
"I have to go, Bye." Aaron said really fast before she heard Nick say hello.
"Hi."
"Hey, did you get my message?"
"Yeah, that's how I have this number."
"Oh, yeah, I didn't think about that. So, are you going to be busy Sunday night?"
"Um, I don't think so."
"You won't mind if I pick you up?"
Alex smiled, "I guess I could live with that."
"Well, I don't have to if you don't want to." Alex caught the hurt in Nick's voice.
"I was only kidding Nick. What time will you get in?"
"I don't know. How about I pick you up around 7."
"Okay that's fine."
"They talked for 45 minutes before Alex had to go because her mom was calling her. Nick said he would see her Sunday night and the hung up. Alex walked over to her calendar and marked 7 with a red marker.

Nick hung up and just sat there
"She was nice." Aaron said coming back in the room.
"Yeah." Nick answered
"Do you like her?" Aaron asked watching his older brother, he had never seen him act like this before and wondered why.
"Yeah."
