Alex went about her day doing her normal stuff, nothing at all. She had only 3 weeks until she would be moving to Tampa to start School. "Alex! You have something." Mrs. Paine called
Alex walked into the kitchen to see a pretty vase of flowers, "Oh, how sweet." She opened the card to find a note from Nick but found something else instead
I didn't mean to hurt you or cause you pain. I just wanted to be near you.
It wasn't signed, but Alex knew who it was from. She didn't know what to do, but she wasn't going to say anything
"Ah, are those from Nick? He is so sweet." Mrs. Paine said walking thru the kitchen.
Alex tore up the card a put it in the trash, if her mom wanted to think they were from Nick then that was great. The phone rang and Alex answered it, "What?"
"Wow, nice greeting." Nick said
"Oh sorry, what's up?"
"I need to show you something, doing anything this afternoon?"
"Nope."
"Can I pick you up then?"
"yeah, sure."
"Okay, I’ll be right over."

Nick picked Alex up but again wouldn't tell her where he was taking her. He even made her put on a blind fold. After 20 minutes Nick stopped the truck and got out. He helped Alex out of the car and led her into a building, after a lot of hallways he led her into a room, "Okay you can take it off now."
Alex pulled off the blindfold and looked around, "Where are we?"
"This is the very same room that I first caught sight of the most gorgeous girl in the world."
"And who would that be?" Alex asked putting her hands on her hips
Nick leaned down until their noses were almost touching, "you. I had to ask you something last night, but I chickened out. I'm going to ask you now, okay?"
Alex nodded.
Nick got down on his knee and pulled out a huge ring. Alex gasped and put a hand over her mouth, "Alexis, I have finally figured out that a life without you, is no life at all. Would you please make me the happiest guy in the universe and marry me?"
Alex tried not to cry but several tears escaped, "Baby, don't cry." Nick said standing up and pulling her into his arms.
"Nicky?"
"What?"
"I'll marry you."
Nick looked at her and couldn't help but kiss her. He slipped the ring on her finger and Alex laughed
"What?" Nick asked
"it's heavy."
Nick laughed and spun her around, "How about we get married tomorrow?"
"I don't think so Nicky."
"Why not?"
"Please tell me you are joking."
Nick looked serious for a minute and then smiled, "of course not, but when can we set the date?"
Alex laughed, "You are forgetting something."
"And what is that?"
Alex smiled, "You haven't talked to my dad yet."
