As Alex opened the door to her room Amy showered her with questions, “How long have you been friends? Have you gone out with him before? What was he doing here?”
Alex just looked at her, “What?”
“How long have you known him?” Amy asked
“About a year.”
“Oh. He’s cute.” Amy said looking at the huge poster that hung next to her bed. “Is he as nice as he seems?”
“Yeah.” Alex answered. She started unpacking the rest of her stuff and answered all of Amy’s questions without giving away too much.
It wasn’t long before Amy realized something, “HEY! You are that girl in the video! Omigosh! I can’t believe this! Are you an actress?”
“No, I was just asked to be in it, and I agreed.”
“So, you’re not an actress?”
“No, I’m a pitcher.”
“A pitcher? Like a baseball pitcher?”
“Yeah, I’m on a scholarship.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s neat, I’ve never heard of a girl pitcher before.”
“Well, not many girls pitch in baseball, but I have the speed, and I love the game.”
Amy didn’t seem to hear because she was in her dreamworld staring at her posters. Alex thought this was a bit unusual for a freshmen but shrugged it off, if that’s what she was into…she couldn’t do anything about it. As Alex unpacked Amy called one of her friends, Alex listened as she told the person on the other line how she met Nick Carter and how he said that they would go out sometime. She even had to mention that her “roomy” was the chic in the video. Alex tried not to laugh as Amy went back to Nick and how “interested” he seemed in her. She was so glad when the clock read 3:57, she grabbed her bag and headed downstairs where Nick was waiting for her. She was glad to be able to spend the evening with her future in-laws.
