Alex stopped and didn’t say anything. Nick grabbed a can of coke and turned to find Alex watching him, “Hey.”
“Hey.”, She said walking over to the refrigerator and getting a can of coke. She nervously opened it and looked up at Nick, who was watching her with a sideways grin. “I um….tonight…I…” Alex was completely lost, she had no idea what to say.
Nick walked over and looped his arms around her waist, “I saw.”
Alex’s eyes got really big, “Nick I…”
He interrupted her, “I also saw you make an idiot out of him, turn him down, and tell him you had a boyfriend.”
“But..”
This time Nick stopped her with a kiss. Alex kissed him back and slipped her arms up around his neck.
“WWOOOOOOWWW!!!” Nick and Alex looked over to find a mound of people who had fallen thru the kitchen door. “Hey! Get off of me!” came a small voice from the bottom.
“Oh, sorry Aaron.” Tracy said helping him up. They all looked up and smiled at Nick and Alex, “Uhh….we’ll be going now.” Rachel said shoving everyone out the door.
Alex grinned, “Where we doing something?”
Nick grinned, “I forgot.”

“So, B.J., give us the scoop on Nick and Alex.” Joey said giggling
B.J. smiled, “Well, Nick met Alex at a concert a little over a year ago. They’ve been going out ever since. They’ve had some hard times, but they have pulled thru it and I think it’s getting kind of serious.”
Everybody giggled and as Alex walked back thru the door they chunked several pillows at her, “It’s Alex in the kitchen with a boy!” Rachel yelled.
Alex laughed and chunked a pillow back at them, “Oh shut up!”
B.J. heard the buzzer for the gate and looked at the clock, “Who could be here at this hour?”
“Maybe it’s Chad.” Tracy said with a giggle
B.J. rolled her eyes as she hit the button, “Hello?”
“Hello, is Alex there?”
Alex was laughing with Rachel when she heard the voice on he intercom, she stopped. The voice belonged to Amy.
“Um, yes, can I ask who this is?”
“This is her roomy.”
B.J. looked at Alex and Alex shook her head no.
“Um, do you need something?” B.J. asked nicely
“I have a message for Alex from her boyfriend.”
Alex looked confused and B.J. tried not to laugh, “Okay.”
She hit the button to open the gate and Alex moaned, “Noooo.”
“You don’t like your room mate?” Joey asked
Alex rolled her eyes, “She’s in love with “Nicky” and she bugs me to NO end!”
Rachel laughed, “It can’t be that bad, can it.”
“It’s worse.” Alex said.
The doorbell rang and Alex went with B.J. to answer it. Sure enough Amy stood there waiting. “Hi! I’m Amy, you must be B.J., it’s nice to meet you.” She said in a rush
B.J. looked at Alex and then at Amy, “Um, Hi.”
“Alex your boyfriend Chad called, and here are your messages from yesterday.” She said handing her a stack of notes. Alex mumbled a thank you as the Rachel walked up behind her. Nick came down the stairs, “Hey B.J., who’s…..oh. Hi Amy.”
Oh Hi Nick!!! While I was here, I was going to ask if you wanted to go to the football game tomorrow.”
“Well, I’d love to, but I have to go out of town.”
“Oh yeah, the whole Backstreet thing.” Amy laughed, “I always forget about that.”
Alex rolled her eyes and B.J. tried to cover her laugh with a cough., “Well, I better go. Alex’s don’t forget to call your boyfriend back, and he said to tell ya that he misses you.”
“But her boyf….”Alex clasped her hand over Rachel’s mouth, “No more bad mouthing my boyfriend.” Alex said thru gritted teeth
Rachel looked at her and nodded not saying another word.
“Bye B.J., bye Nick, call me sometime.”
“Okay, bye.” Nick said as she turned to leave.
B.J. shut the door, “You actually have to live with her?”
Alex nodded, “but not for long. I’m either getting an apartment, or I’m joining a sorority.”
“She doesn’t know that you and Nick are….together?” Rachel asked
“No, I wonder who she thinks is my boyfriend.” Alex said looking thru the notes. “Good grief, Mom called, Christy called, Nick called, Chad called, Colby called, and she didn’t even tell me, that little….”
“So, who’s this boyfriend guy that I don’t know about?” Nick asked
“Well, it has to be Chad or Colby.”
“Who are Chad and Colby?” Rachel asked
“Chad’s one of my best friends and Colby was on my ball team.”
“Ball team?” Rachel asked
“She plays baseball.” B.J. informed her.
“Oh.”
Alex was still trying to read something that Amy had scribbled down. “I think it says misses your speed or something and see you soon. That would have to be Colby, but why would he be seeing me soon?”
“My question is, how did she know where we lived?” B.J. asked
Alex looked up, “I don’t know… The only place I have your address is in my day planner. That little…..she’s been in my stuff!!”
