Alex shut the door behind her as Leighanne and Kristen walked out their rooms.
“Hi Alex, you look nice today.” Kristen said
Alex smiled, “Thank you.” As she had predicted Leighanne and Kristen both looked very nice. Kristen was wearing a short dress that looked very nice on her slim figure. Leighanne was wearing a knee length sundress that showed her full figure.
“Now Kris, you must help Alex and I find something to wear for tomorrow night.” Leighanne said as they walked towards the elevator.
Kristen smiled, “Okay, I’m sure we can find something. I just can’t believe you waited this long.”
“Well, I just forgot.” Leighanne answered stepping onto the elevator.
They both looked at Alex, “I just didn’t think about it.” She answered pushing the lobby button.

They had been shopping for 3 hours, in which time they had also eaten lunch. Alex was starting to drag and still hadn’t found anything to wear to the awards. “Alex, come here! I think we’ve found something.” Kristen said pulling her across the store. Leighanne held up a pair of leather pants and Kristen held up a long see thru nit jacket. “And we found a black shirt to go underneath.” Kristen added as Alex looked at the outfit they held up in front of her.
“I don’t know..” Alex said
“Well, at least go try it on.” Leighanne said pushing her towards the dressing room.
Alex stepped into a dressing room and Kristen handed her the outfit. She slipped out of her sundress and then worked her way into the leather pants. Then she put the shirt on and then the nit jacket. She looked in the mirror, it looked good. The leather pants were almost like a second skin, the nit jacket tied in the front, was long sleeved and went down to a little above her ankles. She liked the way it looked and then she stepped out of the dressing room to show Kristen.
“Oh, that looks great Alex, turn around.” Alex slowly turned around so Kristen could see. “I think you should get it, that nit thing looks good over the pants.”
“What are these called anyway?” Alex asked referring to the ‘nit thing’
“You know, I have no idea.” Kristen answered
“Okay, what do you think?” Leighanne asked from behind them. They both turned to find her wearing a long champaign colored dress.
“Oh that looks good, and I was right, it sets off your hair beautifully.” Kristen gushed
“What do you think Alex?” Leighanne asked turning around
“It’s very pretty.” Alex answered honestly
“I think I’m going to get it.” Leighanne said walking back into the dressing room.
Alex started to follow her when Kristen stopped her, “Here, I found these. Try them on, I think they are your size.”
Alex looked at the two dresses, “Oh, okay.” She went back into the dressing room and pealed off the leather pants. She looked at the dresses Kristen had handed her. One was a really pretty blue color, it was short and sleeveless and the other was a long sapphire color dress. After trying them both on and modeling them Leighanne and Kristen talked her into buying all three things.
“Okay, now we have to go find shoes.” Leighanne said putting her arm thru Alex’s and pulling her over to the shoes. Leighanne found a pair of strappy heels to match her dress right off, and then they looked for something for Alex to wear tomorrow night and something to go with the other two dresses, “I think something strappy would look good with the leather.” Leighanne commented.
Alex found a pair of really cool boots, “How about these?”
Leighanne and Kristen looked at her for a minute and then looked at each other, “Those, would actually be perfect, do they have your size?” Kristen asked. Alex nodded, “Well, then get them.” Kristen said
“These are perfect.” Leighanne held up a pair of strappy black heels, “for the other two dresses.”
Alex looked at them, she hated shoes like that. She had to admit though, they would look good with the dresses.
In a matter of moments the girls headed to the cashier counter. Alex put all of the stuff on the counter and pulled out Nick’s credit card as the cashier rang it all up. She made a mental note to pay Nick back as soon as possible, and then about fell over when she saw the total. It all rang up close to $2,000. She pushed the credit card across the counter and tried to swallow the knot in her throat. She was REALLY going to have to pay Nick back. She signed the receipt and then took the bags that were handed to her. She watched as Leighanne’s total rang up over $500 and she didn’t even bat an eyelash. Alex told herself that her wallet was not cut out for LA at all.
