“You have wonderful fashion taste.” Alex said as Mack came out of the dressing room. She was wearing a short black dress with knee high tiger boots. It was a simple outfit but Alex thought she looked classy.
“So, do you think I should get it?”
“You look good in it.”
“Okay, hold on, let me try on my other outfit.” She then disappeared inside the dressing room and emerged minutes later. This outfit was a contrast from the last one. She had on a pair of gray tennis shoes, a long camouflage cargo skirt, a green T-shirt, and a camouflage choker.
“Where did you get that choker?”
“Oh, I got it a couple weeks ago, but I haven’t decided on an outfit to go with it yet.”
Alex shook her head, “You’re buying the outfit to match the choker? Isn’t it suppose to be the other way around?”
Mack laughed, “Other people do it that way, but I don’t. So, what do ya think.”
“I think it looks good.”
“So, which outfit?”
“Um, I don’t know, what do you think?” Alex asked
Mack looked like she was thinking really hard, “I’ll just get both.”
They walked out of the store with their bags and headed back to the hotel. It wasn’t that late, but they had been shopping almost all day, “Well, I think that was a lot of fun.” Mack said grinning. She had talked Alex into buying almost half the store. Alex didn’t think it was funny and started making up an excuse for when Nick got his credit card bill.
**A WEEK LATER**
“I don’t think he likes you.” Alex said laughing at Nick. He had tried to pet a Koala bear, but the animal would have none of it and climbed higher in the tree. They had been in Australia for the past 2 days and Alex had loved it.
“You forget, I’m the likable one.”
“Sure you are.” Alex said rolling her eyes, “it’s common knowledge that I am the irresistible one.”
“I can agree with that.” Nick said kissing her, “Simply irresistible.”
Alex laughed at him, “What time were you guys going to play golf?”
Nick looked down at his watch, “Oh, we better be getting back.”
**
Nick had gone to his room to change and Alex went to see if Mack was up. Alex slipped quietly into the room. Mack pulled herself up on her elbows, “Where did you go so early?”
“Oh Nick took me to look at the some of the wild life. Are you going with the guys?”
“Where?” Mack asked rolling out of the bed.
“They are playing golf.”
“Oh, yeah, I guess.” She walked over to her suitcase, pulled out some close and headed to the bathroom. She emerged a few minutes later in a baby-t and jeans, “Are you going to play?” Alex only laughed, “I’ll take that as a no. So, what are you going to do?”
“Take a book and a magazine.” Alex answered digging thru her bag.
“Smart choice.”
“What do you usually take?”
“Sometimes I watch, other times I take something I’ve been working on.”
“Like what?”
“Some cloths for my store.”
“Oh.”
They got their stuff together and went to find the guys. They were all in A.J.’s room, Alex and Mack took in Nick and A.J.’s outfit and started laughing. They both looked like wanna be golf pro’s. Nick and A.J. looked down and then up at them, “What?” they both asked.
Alex and Mack just smiled, “Nothing.”
**
It was a warm day and Mack and Alex sat in the golf cart while the guys played. Mack was sewing something on a jean jacket and Alex was reading a magazine. She flipped to the next page and stopped when she saw a picture of the guys, “Hey, look at this.” Alex said showing the magazine to Mack.
“What’s it say?” she asked looking back down at the jacket again
Alex scanned the article, “It talks about the tour, and their girlfriends.”
Mack stopped, “Is it right?”
“Well, it says that Kevin has been seeing Kristen on and off for a long time. Howie is seeing a girl named Claudia. Hey, it says something about me.”
“What?”
“It says Nick is dating Alex Paine, the pitcher for the University of Florida who just set a record, and won the championship.”
“Neat.”
“it talks about Brian and Leighanne, and…oh.”
“What? Does it say something about Amanda?”
“Not exactly.”
“What does it say?”
“It says that A.J. is dating designer Mackenzie Dawton, fashion designer and owner of ‘Wild Things’ a popular store in Orlando Florida.”
“What?!” Mack asked grabbing at the magazine. She read it and then turned to Alex, “Where do they get this stuff?!” She looked back at it and read a little more, but nothing else was said
“Where does who get what stuff?” Alex and Mack almost jumped out of their skin at the sound of A.J.’s voice
