*April 2001*
Alex threw her gear down on the coach and stomped into the kitchen. She jumped out of her skin when she found Nick digging in the refrigerator, “What are you doing?”
Nick went to stand up and hit his head, “Ouch!”
“I thought you were…I don’t know, you are suppose to be somewhere.”
“I just came home, something wrong?”
“Yes.” Alex said crossing her arms
Nick grabbed a bottle of water, “What happened?”
“I can’t marry you.”
Nick was in the process of opening the bottle and stopped, “Excuse me?”
“I can’t. I’m having a nervous breakdown. Between school, playing ball, planning the wedding….”
Nick walked up in front of her but didn’t touch her, “We are not going thru this again Alex, we are not. Do you hear me?” He walked out of the kitchen and left her standing there.
She stood there for a long time thinking. The only thing that had been stable all her life was playing ball. The only thing that had been stable in the past 4 years was Nick. She finally walked out into the living room where Nick was watching TV. She sat down next to him and didn’t say anything. She scooted over and leaned against him, neither one of them said a thing. Everything was settled without saying a word.

“I love it!” Alex said looking at the drawing Mack had handed her, “How long will it take to make?”
Mack looked at the picture for a minute, “I can have it done for you in about 2 and a half weeks.”
“It’s gorgeous.” Alex breathed looking at the picture. The dress was long sleeved and had a V-neck the bodice was a tight fit and then it flowed down into a train that seemed to have no end.
“I’m glad you like it. Did I tell you that I have the Bridesmaids dresses almost done?”
“No you didn’t, can I see them?”
Mack went and got the dresses and brought them back so Alex could see, “This is Angel’s dress.” Mack said holding up a light pink dress.
“She will look beautiful in that color.”
“And this is Leslie’s.” she said holding up a pastel green dress, “And here’s B.J.’s” she held the lavender dress up for Alex to examine
“That color will go wonderful with her hair. Now, let me see yours.” Mack held up the light blue dress, “Oh Mack, it’s gorgeous. You will look breathtaking.”
Mack smiled as her face turned a shade darker, “I’ll have them start on your dress right away. I do need to do a couple of measurements first.”
“Okay, I’m in no hurry.” Alex stood up as Mack came towards her with a tape measure. She had had a 3-day weekend and had gone to Orlando to work with Mack on some of the wedding arrangements. After several minute Mack announced she was done. “I have an appointment to go see the church a 3:00, can you come?”
Mack thought for a minute, “I should be, want me to meet you there?”
“That would be wonderful.”

Mack waited as Alex pulled up and got out of the car, “This is huge.”
“I know, it’s beautiful.”
They walked in and looked around. It was massive. They looked around for a little bit before talking to the minister. After a little while Alex decided not to use the church. They walked outside, “Our wedding is not going to be that big, I don’t think we need a huge church.”
Mack thought for a minute, “I think I know the perfect place. Follow me.”
