When I was a child, I played with my Breyer model horses like they were just toys.
Today I realize they are collectibles. I'm sure if you're visiting this page, you were like
me.
As unshowbale as my old models are, I still love them and would never sell them, they have a sentimental
value far surpassing their market value.
Today I only wish I could go back time I instead of playing with my models, I would
have taken good care and treated them like precious gems.
If you can sympathize, and are in the same situation, you came to the right place. Those battle scars can be lessened, if not eliminated. NOTE: it has been brought to my attention that some shows do not allow touched up models to show as OF. The customer needs to be aware of rules in their area before contacting me for work. In my region, repairs to make a horse look like it was meant to are allowed, BUT added or eliminated markings or items are not allowed, and finish alterations are strictly forbidden.

What I can do
See my live show results to see just how LSQ my work is!
I can disguise repaired breaks pretty well- one of my Fighting Stallions had a broken
hind leg, and he placed in his color class for the Collector’s division, which judges on
condition and rarity. The judge couldn’t tell the leg had been broken.
I can fill in small scratches or mask minor seam problems. I filled in flaws on a porcelain
San Domingo- he had three long scratches, which are no longer visible in photos.
I can cover up rubs of any size or shape, and most colors I can match closely enough to
be Novice LSQ, or at least PSQ. Greys are the toughest to match, I’m not a miracle
worker, but I’ll try my best. Stop back in November to see photos of my Live show string that I've touched up- with links to their results!
Many of my models who’ve placed in Open Halter and Collector’s division have been
touched up- including the bay Trakehner, liver chestnut CWP, palomino Five Gaiter,
charcoal Fighting Stallion, dapple grey CWP, red roan Running Mare -the judge has
never been able to tell. Some even placed high and got championships.
I can repaint hooves that are badly rubbed, making them look factory handpainted.
I can remove non OF paint if it is acrylic, possibly if it oils, and if it is other I will try to
remove, otherwise I will mask it.
I can remove Sharpie or other marker nicks with my special bleaching formula. Not
recommended for models with signatures, or LE or CE or numbered models. I protect any
models with braids, so they don’t get smeared.
I can removed yellowing to a point, using the same special bleaching formula. Don’t take
a chance with sunlight- your beloved model could fall and break, or bloat. My solution is
time tested, and does not damage the plastic.
I can remove black marks or stray nicks on light colored models by eraser or toothpaste
method- which sometimes lightens the paint. For darker areas, I can cover it up with
matching paint.
I can also remove a smoker’s smell from the models with a special bath in non-damaging
soap. It will make your model smell pretty instead of smoky (also recommend a
bleaching to remove the yellow stains).
I can repaint smeared braids or some numbering (you must tell me what the number was,
I will not add a fake one). My Hyksos took a bath and his numbers disappeared partially,
and I simply rewrote them.
What I can't do
Unfortunately, I cannot fix breaks, because I don’t have epoxy, and do not work well
with power tools. For smaller sizes, I can try to superglue them, but I can’t guarantee a
perfect job for those.
I cannot replace missing parts, because I do not sculpt, but I can try to disguise eartip
chips by minor sanding.
I cannot fill in huge gouges or seam splits with epoxy. I will try to mask with layers of
paint.
I cannot remove black marks or stray nicks on colored areas because my methods
sometimes lighten plastic, and sometimes it’s better to leave it be than to remove and
repaint (but I can do as per request, remove mark and touchup paint, or cover it up).
I cannot remove nail polish of any kind, but can remove water based paints and
finishes.
I will NOT work on models that have unrepaired breaks, or look like they are just one
big rub- please don’t send me bodies and expect a miracle. If I think it’s beyond help I
will send it back.
