Bred by Mr. E. Hanbury and born in 1873, it was shown by Mr. F. G. Banbury, of London, at Birmingham in 1875, where it was First in the Open Dog Class. It was considered the best brindled Mastiff of the day, and Mr. Hanbury was then the leading breeder.
