Havenbrooks Bubby In early 1999 we purchased a tiny refined mare already in foal, never anticipating the adventure and story about to unfold. This very tiny, refined colt is pictured with my cousin Kayla. He has won everyone's heart that meets him with his courage and spirit he displays. Bubby was born "clinically dead" and CPR brought him back. He then overcame overwhelming odds to live. At the time we thought he was "over the hump" and going to make it...he tragically put his left eye out while still at the vets. He developed septicemia from the injury and once more fought heroically for his life. Our vet stated he had never encountered a foal so determined to live. Bubby made it once again...and finally came home to us. His left eye was removed once he was strong enough to withstand the surgery. He will remain with us at Havenbrook. His joyful exuberance toward life is truly worth more than any amount of money. On October 23,2000 "Bubby" began persistently running to our living room window as the glass doors looked out on his paddock. He was loudly calling an alarm and when we went to investigate his strange behavior found the neighbors 15 hand stallion had jumped our pasture fence and was savaging our mares and literally killing "Encore". Without "Bub's" prompt action and the intelligence to somehow know to try and get help for his friends the outcome would have been much worse. We always knew he was special and he proved once more just what a tiny hero he is! |

NFC Dandy's Encore consistently passes his presence, correct
conformation, and animated action onto his get. We were thrilled to see these same
qualities evident in his grand get as well. Pictures left is Mini Bits Encores Little Storm - NFC Dandys Encore x Timber Ridges Sheez Incredible. '95 grey pinto stallion, standing at 33.75" and siring foals with straight legs, even toplines, level bites, and small size. Storm excels in that fluid arab movement, flagging his tail, carrying his head high, ears erect, beauty in motion. While spirited in the breeding season, his temperament is such that he can be handled with ease and is currently being trained to cart.

Many thanks to Jerry & Cyndi Doss of Shadybrook Farm for sharing these pictures of NFC Dandy's Encore's grandkids! |
