Actually, this half-hour show is still pretty much the same as it ever was. Perhaps that's because only so much can happen in 30 minutes a day. Sure, there are new faces - the characters of Joe and Karen have been recast, and a new "baddie," Dr. Rachel Locke, had been added to the PC canvas.
There have also been a few zingers. Who would have thought that Lucy would split for good with Kevin and reunite with Scott? And nobody saw the writing on the wall that Chris and Julie would wind up as husband and wife! Frank did a complete personality flip, going from goodie-two-shoes to really sick puppy - overnight!
But by and large PC wins the Least-Changed Soap Award. Case in point: Fans complained that the year's "General Homicide" murder mystery seemd to drag on forever. Maybe they were right. Just when we thought this whodunit had been put to bed for good, it looks like Julie might not have "dunit" after all!
