The 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Personally, I [Sarah] didn't think they were as good as last year, but maybe not everyone was as hyped about 2000 as they were about 9.9.99.First of all let's start with some non-*N Sync related stuff & get that out of the way....
You could tell the show was live because once when they back from a commercial, Shawn Wayans was yelling @ a camera man. Something about "Well, I look in that camera & someone tells me I'm looking in the wrong place, so I look in the other one....What am I supposed to do?!" Marlin is standing there, totally thinking "Shut up dammit, we're on air.
Another thing to tell the show was live....The guy from Rage Against the Machine climbed up on the decorated thing behind the podium while Limp Bizkit was accepting an award & about 10 or 15 security guards show up. RIGHT after that, they showed 98* & Tony Braxton, THEN the Wayans introduced them. Maybe they won't show it like that when they re-air it, but I only saw it the first time, so who knows.
After they went to a break, Carson was talking to Kid Rock & Fred Durst & Kid Rock was talking about how "What are we fighting for? Is it world peace?" That was funny. That just made me decide I liked Kid Rock.
Britney's performance....To be honest, it scared me @ first. I actually thought the "I Can't Get No Satisfation" outfit was kinda of cute. Then she stripped. My first reaction was "Holy shit, put your clothes back on!" After watching it for a little while, I realized it was actually cool & that I was enjoying it. [I should say "After watching it for the 5th time...." I tape most of the New Mickey Mouse Club "graduates" performances @ award shows, just 'cuz I'm pathetic like that....] The dance was pretty cool, except @ the end when she was on her knees & grabbing her chest. During the beginning of "Oops..." who else noticed one of the male dancers grabbed her boob? I'm not making that up......I don't think Britney should be getting as much shit for this as she's getting. Get over it already people!
Even though I'm pro-Napster, I loved the whole "Napster: Sharing is only cool if it isn't your stuff." skit with Lars Ulrich. (Spelling?)
Pink's hair kicked ass. She's so awesome. Moby on the other hand is retarded. This year he wore a completely red tux, but last year he wore that gold & silver one....Be more original. PLUS putting that political sticker on the podium was as gay as the day is long. It's MTV, & it's the VMAs...If it were something for Choose or Lose, that would be more than okay with me, but he was just showing support for who HE thought should win for president, which had no place @ the VMAs.
Christina Aguilera's performance was okay I guess. The thing that made it better was when Fred Durst came out. Sure, it was as random as hell, but it made her whole performance worth watching. I was proud of Christina for singing "Hell yeah." during one part where she's being Fred's back-up singer. I was like "Damn, someone from MMC cussed." Plus, I just have a major crush on Fred Durst (stop laughing or making fun of me or whatever...), so seeing him was cool.
Chris Rock is so random...I hate him. He comes out with that retarded guy who just agrees to everything Chris Rock says & that's supposed to be funny? Riiiiiight....
I love Wes from Limp Bizkit. In my opinion he's good looking, & he's just cool...Not like any of you care, but I have a website, so I'll write whatever the hell I please!
I was proud of Limp Bizkit for winning Best Rock Video, but I think "I Disappear" shoudl have won. Yeah, "Break Stuff" is an awesome song & a cool video, but "I Disappear" was like Metallica's come-back. [Sorry if I lost any of you who don't watch anything on MTV that isn't teenybopper related....]
During "Country Grammer" Nelly or one of the 50 thousand people who was onstage with him, goes into the audience & you can see Trevor & Jacob from O-Town. Trevor's totally rocking out. He's bobbin' his head & moving his arms & singing along. It's hilarious. Then a different guy goes into the audience & you can see Doug & Jerry from 2ge+her.

They need serious fashion help. Lance looked like he'd been raiding Justin's closet. [Baby blue flame jacket.] JC looked a like a pimp. [UGH, I hated that coat!] Joey was okay. He wasn't dressed as freakily as others, so we'll leave him alone. I think Justin has a leather fetish. Chris was probably the best dressed.
They should never talk. They just make complete asses of themselves. I'm sorry, I know that comment just pisssed off the 5 people who've come to our site, but that's what I think. They just need to stand their & look good.
