Public Image Ltd. Johnny Rotten's second band
Where: Mississippi Nights (Oh yeah! Best club in St. Louis)
Probably in the Mid or late 80's... it was a 21 and older show

MY dad went with my mom and some friends. They sat a table right next to the stage. They had to put three tables together so all of dad's friends could sit with him (quite the popular folk, eh?). The first thing they did was order
TWENTY-FIVE BEERS!!!!! Because, of course, it would be hard to get them later and miss your spot when the band was playing.  They were in cups... cause the people wouldnt allow cans because they were afraid everyone would chuck them at John after he spit on them HA HA HA joke people. ( you know his reputation and all.)
My dad remembers all the younger people had liberty spikes and stuff ( punks not dead!), but wehn Johnny came out he had a flat top and was wearing a pair of pajamas with black light paint all over them.
Of course, Johnny had black lights on him. You know he used to have meningitis when he was a kid and red lights trigger seizures and all...
My dad said the band was "tight" that night. (HA HAHA from the ghetto are we?) Not that tight meaning of course, he means u know worked well together. It would have been faster If i just typed that. Oh well.
Anyway... He probably played Holidays In the Sun... cause he plays that at all PiL shows. John, not my dad sillies.
Dad said his favorite songs played were "Seattle," "Open and Revolving, " and "Armada."
He said it was really fun and great. My dad and his friend thought that the song "Armada," was "A Murder," and kept yelling "Play Murder." HA HA hA. And John kept looking at them like they were crazy. I wish John could look at me like I was crazy.
