For those of you who are unaware of what the "Mickey Mouse Club" is, let me give you a quick briefing. The "Mickey Mouse Club” was a show, featuring what they called, young talent singing songs, acting out short skits etc. The show ran on the Disney Channel and Family Channel in the early 1990s, but has since been stopped. However, I hear that they will be showing re-runs of this show on the Disney Channel, but if you want more information, I suggest you go to disney.com.

The “Mickey Mouse Club” can be regarded as a show that gave many young, aspiring singers and actors, their big break in Hollywood. Many of the entertainers in the teen driven industry have been former Mousketeers. They include JC and Justin from NStink, Bitchney Queers, Christina Aguilera and Keri Russell. In the mix of former Mousketeers, most are untalented (do I even have to type their names out?...), but there are a select few that are capable of making an impression in the entertainment industry.

Although I watched the show on a regular basis, I had a certain dislike for many of the Mousketeers. This includes JC and Justin from NStink! As weird as it may sound, my hate for NStink began at an early age! I hated both of them, but JC in particular was rather irritating. He was the kid with the buckteeth and he was always trying to be cool, but ended up making a fool of himself. Surprisingly, I do not recall JC landing many solo songs on the show. Most of the solo gigs were given to Tony Lucca (I don’t know if that is his real last name, but it is something like it...). Justin was younger, and even more annoying, but he did not play as big a part in the show as JC did. But I did not realize that JC and Justin were the JC and Justin from NStink (sorry, having a Joey moment there...) until people said those two NStinkers were from the MMC. And sure enough, as I dug deeper and deeper into my brain, those disturbing images of the two resurfaced.

Although Bitchney was a part of the Club, I seriously do not recall seeing her on the show. However, I do have recollection of a bratty little kid, with brunette hair, who somewhat resembles her. But I am not certain if that is Bitchney, or even if this bratty little kid was on the MMC.

The MMC might have plagued the world with awful performers such as NStink and Bitchney, but they also blessed the world with some talented individuals that have a bright path in show business. For example, the solo diva Christina Aguilera, behind the smash hit “Genie In A Bottle.“ She has got the explosive vocal talent, comparable of that to Mariah Carey’s, to go along with her natural good looks and body. She might still draw some comparisons to Bitchney, simply for the fact that they are both teens, they are both girls and they were both on the MMC. However, she does have the critics on her side. Critics agree that Christina has the talent to make it far in her singing career. While a nice body and good looks (which I’ll give to Bitchney, I don’t deny she has these things...) can get you success for awhile, it is talent that will keep you there.

While I am on the subject of talent that has come from the MMC, let us not forget Keri Russell! She has basically exploded onto the acting scene in a most powerful way, snagging Golden Globes for her portrayal of a University of New York student in “Felicity.” Through her acting, she is able to grab the audience and put them into the tough situations that Felicity faces as a young adult. It is this type of talent that is often overlooked when people see the useless pieces of bleep that also come from the MMC.

So in short, the MMC was not an entirely useless show. It may have breed NStink and Bitchney. But is also gave Christina and Keri a place to shine. By the way, I was not paid in any way (although I should be...) to endorse the MMC! I am just responding to the malicious stereotype that all former MMC members are talentless.
