- Not only are the RSC staff very quick in answering enquiries, they are also outstandingly friendly and helpful. Yesterday I wrote them an email asking for permission to post their great Troilus pic. Here's what I got today:
Dear Beate,Thank you for your kind comments about our website. The background database is still being worked on, with actor names being added, so there might be images of interest to you that you did not find. This is a link to a search on the 1996 production of Troilus with a couple more images of Joseph Fiennes for you.
I have passed your request to our Enterprise department to obtain permission to post the picture. I have recommended that this be allowed as you are running a not-for-profit site, as our usual permission is granted on a commercial basis.

Asked how he felt about the rise of his youngest brother Joseph, Ralph says he doesn't feel competitive, but he did have to adjust."Families are odd, aren't they? There is a paradox going on. We are all quite close, but at the same time we are all desperately trying to be independent. One of the things we laugh about when we are together is the fact that we can't bear being called "the Fiennes children." We all of us have pretty big egos, and we want to say "I'm not a Fiennes, I'm Ralph, or I'm Sophie."
"I think when I decided to be an actor and I went to acting school and everything, that was a passport away from the family in that it was the beginning of the stamp of "Yes, someone thinks you're talented, and here you are," it was quite odd when suddenly another member of the family was doing exactly the same thing. I did an internal double take, but actually we are completely different, and it is only a state of mind that makes it a problem.

He says, "I entered a surfing competition to see who could catch the biggest wave. I caught one all right - it came crashing over me. But I'm OK now." Fiennes recuperated by spending a night parting with fellow Hollywood hunk George Clooney in London's trendy Notting Hill, following a screening of Clooney's directorial debut, Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind."

Scene one: Shakespeare In Love star Joseph Fiennes takes an attractive dark-haired companion for a casual stroll around London's Hyde Park. Scene Two: the pair appear two days later at the high profile launch of triggerstreet.com. So who is the object of the British heart-throbs affections? A new muse perchance? We may have to wait several acts to find out, since the man who brought the Bard's love life to the screen prefers to keep his own under wraps. It's not known, for example, whether his romance with make-up artist Fiona Jolly, with whom he reportedly bought a house, has run its course. And a spokeswoman refuses to comment on any new aspect of his private life. Back in Hyde Park, the spring in the 32-year old actors step could mean that love is in the air. Or maybe its all just much ado about nothing.

- We are happy to report that Killing me Softly will be released on DVD and videotape on December 3rd (which is tomorrrow!) in the Netherlands. In fact, Thana already saw a videotape in a store so apparently it came early. Expect to pay some 20 euros for the DVD and 6,99 euros for the videotape.
