So you want a wizard eh? Excellent choice my friend! Wizards are the most powerful profession in Elanthia right now, however life with them is very tough in the beginning. But after all, if you have patience, and intelligence, and i'm not talking about in game intelligence, you'll love the wizard life.

Stats

Ok, the prime stats for wizards are intelligence and aura. For the wizard profession I recommend either halflings or dark elves, however others will work. Now if you're a halfling, You want strength the highest stat. All other races will want discipline. After that i would reccommend wisdom, then aura, then strength. As your fifth highest, I would go with reflexes, then constitution. As your 7th, I would put logic, then intelligence, then charisma. That's abuot all there is to the stats, but there are many good stat placement formulas for wizards, that one should do ok though.

Training

Right away double spell aiming. That will be your main weapon for your life, seeing as it is the skill that makes your elemental AS rise. After that I would recommend singling edged weapons ( Note, you want to train in some type of weapon, and edged is the cheapest for wizards. You want the extra DS in defensive stance believe me.) you'll also want to single shield use, mana sharing, and physical training. Now you'll want to single in perception, to protect against thieves. NOw if you have the points left over single armor use, but i highly doubt you will. i suggest singling in climbing or swimming if you can, and then alternating on the next training. If you don't want to do that, despite the fact that it will help you get into many nice hunting areas, save the points to train in armor. The most you'll probably want to get in armor is 4 trainings, as that is all you need to wear full leather, which gives very little spell hindrance. Also if you want branch into the other magical skills, such as magic item use and scroll reading. I alternate singling them personally, and plan to stop them and mana sharing when they hit 102. It's your decision. That's all on training.

Hunting Tactics

Ok, for the wizard, hunting is actually quite simple. I strongly recommend a stance dancing technique. When you're higher in trainings, i also recommend you spell yourself up well before hunting, just to be sure, and so you can hunt stronger creatures. Now when you're out in the field, just stay in defensive until a creature comes to you or you find one. Then prepare your bolt spell, or sleep if you wish. Wait for it to attack, then go offensive for the bolt or guarded for sleep, then cast. Go back to defensive immediately, and if it's not dead do the same thing again. That's all on hunting tactics.
