After losing Brenda, Jax seemed for too long to be drifting aimlessly in the GENERAL HOSPITAL sea. A promising romance with V. was cut short (though her reunion exit with Simon was witty and fun), and Jax was left with nothing to do but don those natty threads and pop up at ELQ board meetings to annoy the Quartermaines. He seemed so dangerously back-burner that we thought he might land in Kelly's freezer.
Happily, Chloe Morgan arrived in town, and her fresh and airy presence immediatly perked up our Aussie hero. Their developing romance took a lovely turn (around the dance floor) at the Nurses' Ball, and during their recent escape to New York, so much so that we had our pom-poms poised, rooting for them to take their relationship to the next step. We thought maybe commitment, maybe making love; we never thought marriage - to other people!
Though we're still in shock, we're getting quite a kick out of the complications arising from Chloe's uncle's will, which brought about Chloe and Ned's engagement and Ned and Jax and Alexis' wedding! Because Jax and Alexis share a history of near-romance, there's no telling how this quadrangle will play out. There are people who are still waiting for that romance to heat up. Then there are ones who are rooting for Alexis and Ned!
So given the chemical combustibility in nearly every combination of the Ned/Alexis/Jax/Chloe foursome, it's anybodys guess. And a soap that can keep us guessing can also keep us watching. Bravo to GH!
