Arsehol
- Nick: Arsehol
- Years supporting the Arsenal: 29
- Where do u sit when watching arsenal: North Bank Lower usually
- Any other teams you support: I’m from Wolverhampton so I always look for the Wolves score but I had too many fights at school to say I support them. Plus when I was a kid Derek Dougan pushed me into the local swimming pool for having a Gunners bag. So lets say I only follow them
- Reason for supporting Arsenal: My Grandad was the only other footy fan in our family so I used to watch Match of the Day with him. He was a Gooner so I was hooked
- Favourite Current Player: Patrick Vieira (real character and genuinely plays his heart out) /Tony Adams (no words needed, the best captain England haven’t got)
- Favourite all time player: Ray Kennedy
- Favourite Arsenal Manager: Herbert Chapman – he made the club great
- Least Favourite Arsenal player Ever: Gus Caesar
- 1st game you remember: 1971 Cup Final Arsenal v Liverpool
- 1st game attended: Wolves v Arsenal, Easter Monday 1974 (we got beaten 3-1 but I didn’t care)
- How long on Afci?: About 9 months on and off
- 1st person you met from AFCI: NBB (who else?)
- Best Arsenal Memory: 26 May 1989. It was so much against the odds and it also marked the end of the Liverpool domination era.
- Worst Arsenal Memory: FA Cup semi final against Totscum in 1991. We were far and away the best side that year and we should have won the double. To come out against them and just not play to potential was too depressing
- If you managed Arsenal what would be the 1st you’d do? Work toward developing a new English core to the team. We won the league in 89 and 91 because we had a core of great players. Players like Michael Thomas and Rocky gave so much pleasure to fans in the 80s and early 90s that GG should never have let them go so easily. We need players like Stephen Hughes who are clearly good enough to get in the first team and become regulars. To see Stephan Malz picked ahead of him is just not right. Chelsea have proved that a team full of foreign players no matter how talented cannot challenge for the English Premiership without a base of players who care enough about the club to really when when the chips are down.
