What a week! Just so you know, the verses don't go in any specific order; they
all went haywire when I wrote this. Also, the Outers' names will be dubbed.
Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon, or Tori Amos, who wrote 'Girl'. Oh well.
'She's been everybody else's girl...'
"Come on Serena! The Sailor Scouts need your help!" cried Luna.
"Coming. MOON CRYSTAL POWER!"
Her transformation was speedy, and it didn't take very long for her
to get to the park. Mars was down, and Venus attended to her. Mercury and
Jupiter were doing their best to hold off the droid. Sailor Moon ran right into
the heat of the battle, and took most of the blast of the attack. She fell, but
stood shakily, and looked behind her. Mercury and Jupiter were trying to stand,
but the droid kept right on attacking.
"JUPITER THUNDERCLAP, ZAP!"
Jupiter's attack hit the monster full force and knocked it backwards
a little.
"Now Sailor Moon!" Mercury said.
"Right. MOON SCEPTER, ELIMINATION!"
It was dusted. Mars stood shakily, with the aid of Venus.
"Thank you, Serena," she said as they all detransformed. "Thank
you."
'Maybe one day she'll be her own...'
Raye looked over at her friends with a new question in mind.
"Serena," she began. "What do you want to do when you get out of
school, for good?"
Her blonde-haired friend looked startled, then thought.
"I don't know," she replied.
"Come on Serena!" Mina said. "Tell us!"
"I...I...," she stuttered. "I want to see the world! I want to
explore new places, see new things! Maybe, if I ever make it out of high
school, maybe I'll go to France, or America for college."
The other four girls looked startled at the passion in her reply.
They had never known that their leader had dreams of her own; they had assumed
she'd stay here and do things she normally does. Well, she might reform a
little in the future, but that was yet to be seen.
'And in the mist, there she rides...'
The dream was unlike any other she had ever had before. Her long
golden tresses down up in the same way, the flowing, pure white dress with gold
trim waved around her like water. The only thing different was that there was
no Darien, no Moon Kingdom. She was alone, riding in mists, on a milk-white
horse, galloping to unknown places. It was beautiful, but lacked the warm,
friendly feeling of her memories. Could this be a vision of her in the future?
'And castles are burning in my heart...'
Another dream graced her mind for the second time that night. She
saw the castle of her childhood, still standing, beautiful in the light. This
time, there were many people around her, the Scouts included. They were
younger, so it had to be from the Silver Millenium. The five of them chatted,
only stopping when some nobleman's son asked one of them to dance. To her
surprise, even Ami danced a few times, blushing slightly as her friends gazed
knowingly at her. Then her mother entered, and all music stopped.
'Thank you all for coming,' Queen Serenity said. 'I'd like to
intrduce my daughter, Princess Serenity.'
She came forward, as graceful as ever...
'...they stay and laugh as violins fill with water...'
Another memory surfaced in the early morning hours. This time, she
and the Sailors stood waiting for the Queen. As the tall, graceful lady
entered, three other girls followed behind her.
'Ladies, I'd like you to meet three of the four Outer Scouts. This
is Alexandra, Princess of Uranus, Michelle, Princess of Neptune, and Helen,
Princess of Saturn.'
The three newly introduced girls bowed before their Princess and
nodded their heads towards the other four girls. Queen Serenity continued.
'Michelle plays the violin beautifully, and was going to give you a
private concert. Michelle?'
The aqua-haired girl showed her hands, and revealed a beautiful
violin, carved with waves that leapt out as you saw them. Michelle put it to
her chin, and began to play an old, back-woods sort of melody, and they all
laughed, their friendships formed instantly...
'She's been everybody else's girl, everybody else's girl, maybe one
day she'll be her own...everybody else's girl...'
