"What do I have left?
Without you, I am nothing
Without you, I am a soulless body
I am nothing
And even as I sit here
On a park bench
Staring out over the lake
I find no beauty where it once had been
THe trees, the flowers
And even the moon
I have no love in my heart for them
None
And all they do is exist
The fish swim
Birds fly
And I find nothing at all
To sing and dance about
And even as the sun sets
I find nothing gorgious
About the most beautiful
Of all the beauty in the world
The colored sky"
Serena set her pencil down as she stared out over the lake at the sunset.
A lone tear ran down her cheek.
"Why, Darien?" She whispered. "Why do you not love me anymore!?!"
She stood up as more tears fell from her eyes and ran out of the park. In her
place, a paper fluttered to the ground...
...Darien walked up and picked the paper Serena had dropped up. He read it once.
Twice. A third time and a tear ran down his cheek as well.
"Oh, GOD! What have I done..." He whispered.
