Tidbits of Wisdom
This is a page where those of us who have spent some time in college will give hints and words of wisdom for those who have just started or are returning to the classroom. If you have anything that you want to add to this list please email us and we'll be sure to put it up :-)
Jen's wisdom
- You need to come right out and tell your professors that you have RSD, it'll be better for you in the long run. If they don't know, they can't help you. Plus if you have to go to a doc appt then they'll be more excusing.
- The first couple of days your roommate will seem like the best person in the world. But it usually doesn't last all year long. Just be prepared that you wont have your best friend living with you all year long.
- You can NOT go out and party all night long and then expect to have a productive day the next day. Party on the weekends...then you would have deserved it because of your hard work in class during the week :)
- One more about partying. If after a great night out your not able to hold anything down anymore...drink milk. Not just any milk though, go for the good
fattening chocolate milk. It'll sooth your rebelling stomach and also help replace some of the electrolytes that you've lost to the
porcelain god.
Carrie's Wisdom
- Don't necessarily room with your best friend, unless you love EVERYTHING about them. Otherwise, they will probably drive you nuts before a semester is up and you'll end up losing a good friend. If you have a perfect stranger, you won't care whether or not you ever see them again.
- Junk food for dinner seems like a good idea, until you hop on the scale.
