This page is basically just little stuff that we notice from day to day that we thought we'd take the time to write about... I've been noticing lately that people have been saying the word "gay" a lot, and in really strange contexts. I mean, I've heard people say "That movie was so gay." or "That outfit is so gay." and I really doubt that it means that the movie or outfit or whatever it may be is homosexual... so why do people say that? I'm guessing it's because there are still many homophobic undertones in our culture, and that's just yet another way of knocking homosexuality. I've never heard anyone say anything like "I just came from the BEST party! It was so gay!". It's always in a negative way... and I've talked to people who say that and asked why they use that word in that context, and if it's because they're homophobic, and they've said that it's just something "everyone else" says. It seems really really sad that people just repeat what they hear without even giving it some thought first. -Delia, Feb. 23 ... Oh, and TV is evil... Hey, what the hell is with people who play games on their cell phones? Is it just me, or is that too strange? I mean, the cell phones that have games cost about $100.00 more than the ones that don't; and I was just wondering why someone would pay that much money to be able to play games on a goddamn PHONE when they could get a gameboy or something for about the same price. -Delia, May 10...
