Allen Hall, age 82, of the Edwina Community died Thursday afternoon at his home. He was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was the son of the late (Singing) Sam Hall. He is survived by his wife, Mamie Willis Hall, of the home. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary December 29, 1982. He is also survived by two sons, Delbert Hall of Knoxville and Olin Hall of Newport; sisters Mrs. Rebecca Glenn, Mrs. Rachel Baxter, Mrs. Effie Cogdill, and Mrs. Mary Raines, all of Newport, Mrs. Ellen Bailey of East Alton, Ill., and Mrs. Katherine McCabe of Dallas, N.C.; brothers, Jim Robert Hall and Frank Hall, both of Greenville, S.C., and Ransom and Alfred Hall, both of Newport; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews. Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Lane and the Rev. Richard Loveday officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoo and Saturday evening. Manes in charge.
