Roger E. Freeman, 65, of Morristown passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. Mr. Freeman was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newport. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge Freeman and Rebecca Hall Freeman Glenn; brother Warren Freeman.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lucille "Mickie" Smith Freeman of Morristown; sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Stacy Freeman of Newport, Wendell and Melinda Freeman of Morristown, Jay Freeman of Morristown; grandsons, Justin, Jeremy and Christopher Freeman; grandaughter, Megan Freeman; step -grandsons, Dustin and Chase Gregg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Imogene Freeman, Rolan and Betty Jean Freeman and Dan and Dorothy Freeman all of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Iris and David Wood of Sevierville; sister-in-law, Eula Freeman of Newport; brothers-in-law and spouses, Kenneth and Helen Smith, James and Ann Smith all of Morristown, Tommy and Joyce Smith of Michigan.

Private graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 30 at Union Cemetery with Rev. Robert Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 29 at Brown Funeral Home in Newport. Brown Funeral Home is is charge of the arrangements.
