He is recorded as Hugh GAHAN in 1830 in the NSW Convict Marriage Banns 1826-1841. He married Alice KENNELLY, daughter of John and Kate KENNELLY, on 17 May 1830 in St Mary's Church, Sydney. Alice was born about 1801 in Limerick, Ireland. Hugh died 1846 in Windsor, NSW. Alice died 8 May 1891 at Freeman's Reach, Hawkesbury, NSW.
