Michael Gahan & Elizabeth Parker

Michael GAHAN arrived in Australia as a convict aboard the ship St Vincent on 5 January 1837 age 22 years. A native of County Meath, Ireland, and the son of Philip GAHAN and Margaret McGuire, Michael was tried at Monoghan on 23 July 1836 and found guilty of pig stealing. He was sentence to be transported to New South Wales for the term of 7 years.

Michael married Elizabeth PARKER, daughter of Samuel and Ann PARKER, in Wollongong, NSW on 27 October 1840. Their children were:

Michael GAHAN died 13 February 1881 in Wollongong age 66 years. He is buried in the Bellambi Roman Catholic cemetery. Elizabeth GAHAN (nee PARKER) died 1905.
