Are they telling you the truth as to how much profit they’re making? Because that's all that matters.

Making profit is what is going to allow you to work for yourself and have the lifestyle you want. All of these companies promoting their "Get Rich with Vending!" programs are giving this industry a bad name. But these vending companies are only misleading folks that are truly interested in learning how to run this business - and make PROFITS. In trying to make a sale, some vending companies go as far as offering complete turned key operation such as including locations or some kind of promotional gimmicks. Just ask yourself, would you trust a do-it-all doctor to operate on you or a specialist? You know how the saying goes…If something sounds too good to be true…it probably is.

I know your time is very valuable and I don't want to waste a minute of it. If you read this entire page you will learn some very important things about vending and making money that you probably had no idea about.

Let me start by the topic of “silly mistakes most people make when choosing a vending program-- and why it costs them up to thousands of dollars.”

Many people tend to focus on higher selling price and more common items as they are to believe that it can make more money. Not so! You should focus on percentage of return on investment and time… Not to mention that these opportunities would cost a fortune to start.

There are many types of vending businesses that produce a healthy return on your money, however some are very labor intensive.

A perfect example of this would be the snack and drink business. The snack and drink business is a great business. However, regardless of how good your locations are, there is just too much work involved to make it worth your time and effort. Picking up $200.00 at a location that has a snack and drink machine will take 1 to 1 ½ hours including drive time. After your 50% food cost, that’s not leaving much to pay the rest of your expenses. Not to mention some locations require a cut of the profits.

What you want is a business that can recoup your investment in the shortest time and generate a steady cash flow. Now that truly is “your money working for you!” Wouldn’t you agree?

So here are steps to follow…

The first step is to determine which vending business gives you the best return on your money while taking the least amount of time. You want a good balance. Here’s what I mean. Let’s say you find a business that generates a great amount of money but takes a great deal of work. Well, anybody can make a lot of money. What good is the money if you don’t have the time to spend it? On the other hand, you may find an investment that takes four or more years to earn your money back but lots of time. An example of this might be investment securities, real estates, the stock market etc. That’s a great way to leverage your time but with slow results, not to mention high risks.

Let’s contrast this with another vending business. Let’s say you own one giant bulk candy machine. The machine holds 250 lbs candy. Once that machine sells out, it will have $875 in it. Don’t go to it until it has sold 80% of the product. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good location or a bad location. Understand, this is just an example. How long it takes for a machine to sell out depends on the amount of customer traffic in the lacerations. Under normal circumstances, you should be able to service 3 stops per hour. Do the math. Now, that's worth your time! By the way, candies cost around 5 cents and sell for 25 cents. Pretty good, huh?

Now, I used two examples that are extreme opposites just to make a point. Some vending businesses are simply a much better use of your time than others. Bulk candy, gumball and similar type vending machines that have large capacities, are easy to service and are extremely impressive to the location, give you the best chance to make the most money with the least amount of effort. The fact is, the profit margins are much higher since the food cost is 50% less than snack and drinks, the capacities of the machines are much greater if you operate the machines we suggest, and the method of service is much more efficient. Hey, don’t plop in one gumball at a time like you would a coke, candy bar or potato chip when you service the machines. Grab 500 quarters. Lift the lid and poor.

Now, let’s look at the most important issues in vending, location, location and location. The fact is there are quite a few locations with machines in them. What does this mean? It means that these locations make money! If a location doesn’t have machines, they probably never been approached or they don’t allow them. The question you need to ask yourself is, “why in the world would they let me in the location?”, especially if they have vending machines already. The answer is “if you don’t show them an attractive looking vending machine, they probably won’t let you in the door”. This is why you need the most attractive looking machine that takes up the least amount of floor space.

After all that have been said. What is this vending that can give you highest return on investment, takes little time to manage and offers low risks? You probably have guessed it. Why, it’s no other than… BULK VENDING of course!

Why? Because bulk-vending is the meat and potatoes of vending. It has been the most profitable segment in the vending industry for many years. It offers the quickest returns, the highest profit margins, the least amount of risk, and it's the simplest to operate of any vending business. Not to mention that it's virtually NO OVERHEAD!

Did you realize that candy will never goes out of style? We all have a sweet tooth. And did you know that adults eat a lot more candy than kids and teens combined? I bet you didn’t.

For every quarter you received, the cost is around 5 cents. That gives you 20 cents profit or 80% profit margin.

Does this mean all bulk-candy vending businesses are good?

The answer is…NO!

It will come down to choosing the right vending machine. But I’ll discuss that a little bit later. For now let’s talk about LOCATIONS!

Finding Locations--Establishing Your Vending Route

The three most important things your vending business requires to be successful are:

1. Location
2. Location
3. Location

This is paramount to your success in the vending business.

The best and most economic way to establish your route is to do it yourself. Ask yourself this question: Who is the person that cares about your business the most to find the best possible locations for your business? It’s YOU of course!

There are companies out there including locations as part of their packages so they can get your business. Is that good? Well, you can decide that for yourself. All I can tell you is that even if the locations are part of their packages, you will end up looking for new locations yourself. Why? Because these companies will just find any locations willing to take your machines. You will end up finding new locations for all the bad ones they’ve given you anyway. So why pay them and have to do the work all over again yourself? Did you know that the US government does not allow full-service vending companies because too many people had been taken advantage of too often? Ask yourself this: Where does their interest lie? Certainly not you!

Their interest is to make a sale. Also, did you know that the price for their packages has the location fees built in it? The fees are usually around $100 per location. If you buy a 30 machine package, that’s $3000. Wouldn’t it make sense to do it yourself to find best locations possible and save all that money?
