THE JAE JOURNAL

January 27, 2004

Hello friends. Sorry about the lack of updates on the site. This past semester at school was quite a killer. Hopefully, I did well. Now I am working on a video for training for the company I am employed at so this is why such a long wait for an update. So my apologies.

Anyway, so we are going to get a new casino. That’s good news. New jobs, more money to pump into our faltering economy. More blackjack tables to conquer. Can we get a poker table this time around though? I don’t understand why people are against this idea. It leads to gambling. So what is gambling? A weakness. It is up to someone to know their stopping point and when to quit. If you don’t know this, you shouldn’t be gambling. G-Rod has been doing a good job in trying to revive the deficit in the Illinois budget that EC (that’s Ryan) put a hole in. If that means taxing the casino, what’s the problem with that? The casinos bring in millions of dollars per year and much of that money gets pumped back into the community.

So people have asked me about the Gary Meier situation over all good ol’ WLS. I think that WLS obviously has many disgruntled employees due to all the horror stories I hear from them. Much of it is due to the bad decision making by these people and also the way they treat their employees. I heard that they tell them that they should be happy to not be working at McDonalds. What happened to Gary Meier will come to bite them in the ass. I know this for sure. When Roe and Gary go somewhere else in the market, WLS will sag in the ratings in the afternoon. No question about it is my mind. They could simulcast Sean Hannity live from NY, but Chicago likes local shit before syndication. I think that Gary Meier has contributed a lot to this business and for WLS to treat him like that is pure horseshit. He has earned his stripes and that was a real dick move in my opinion.

All this trial TV is making my head spin. The jury selection of the Martha Stewart trial started this week, and we have also heard last week Scott Peterson gets his day in court outside of Modesto, CO. Kobe Bryant gets booed when the Lakers play the Nuggets. Let me say something. Kobe should get booed everywhere he goes not only because of the allegations, but because he is a cocky, arrogant, wanna be Jordan piece of crap. I can’t believe that none of these cases makes TV. Furthermore, are these really big stories? As big as mainstream media wants us to believe? These are regular people going to court and I do not believe that there needs to be the entertainment factor brought into this. One guy is accused of killing his wife and unborn child, says he didn’t do it. One crazy woman is accused of insider trader, says she didn’t do it. One is accused of rape, says he committed adultery, not rape. Like we should forgive him. Oh yeah, don’t forget about the pale-faced freak that says he didn’t molest children, but thinks it’s perfectly OK to sleep with them. Depends which sleep we are talking about here. I choose not to watch this garbage, but being in the media means I should be up on it. So here’s what I say. Convict them all and let God sort them out.

Bush wants to build a village on Mars and put another man on the moon. Wow!!!! What a waste of taxpayer dollars. Rather than improve the state of our country in our already tainted planet, he would like to fuck up another place. I guess that is how the Bush administration works. It’s like the Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Move into a host (Afghanistan), infect it, kill it, and move on to another (Iraq.) Grant it, Afghanistan is making some improvements in their living situation. Meanwhile, the only people we have to combat this moron in November are rather scary. Of course there is Dean who thinks he is the WWE World Champion. He talks so loud. Then there is Kerry, who beat cancer. This man just looks dishonest, and is using textbook Clinton ways to get the vote. You know, appeal to the people and that crap and doing real good at it. See, that is the job of the politician. Clinton was awesome at it. John Edwards? Who the hell is this guy? Wesley Clark. Funny a general running for the Democratic Party. And then there are a couple others who are not even worth the time in writing into my journal. Is our country is huge trouble?

Golden Globes. Hey Jack, learn how to pronounce Charlize Theron’s name right, dumb ass!

Saw The Butterfly Effect this past weekend, and lost a pager. Good movie. Ashton Kutcher surprised me because he did a decent job in the movie.

The Sox just signed the saves leader from Japan Baseball. Hope they can save the team from getting annihilated this season coming up. I just put Bartman on my visitors jersey. I just wanted to let all the Cub fans out there know that you can have your wanna be Steinbrenner Jim Hendy buy all the talent he wants, the Sox will destroy the Cubbies when it comes down to the Windy City Series, and we will have a better record too.

Mass Debate is on the way. It might be a little bit past March, but I am going to be putting the pieces together in that puzzle once my next school year starts. I need to get a feel on what things are going to be like. So stay tuned to the site for that. Until then, have a nice day. Talk to you soon.

Peace and love,
MJ
