I Stand
I stand in the middle
In the middle of my parents fighting over stupid shit
In the middle of my friends having a hissy fit
In the middle of the hospital watching my family die
In the middle of the world, just wondering why?

I stand to the left
To the left of the politicians who say they care about all of us
To the left of the services that we are supposed to trust
To the left of the authorities who try to rule over me
To the left of the counselors that won’t let me be

I stand to the right
To the right of the evil that inhabits our land
To the right of pop culture and some silly boy band
To the right of the difference between right and wrong
To the right of that commercial that is so long

I stand for things
Things that make me feel good about me
Some of qualities that none of you will ever see
Things that make me want to get up and fight
Go after all my goals, that are within my sight
Things that are right, things that are good
I will not leave this life being misunderstood

I stand for independence, that is which is my own
I stand on my two feet, and will never break a bone
I stand for greatness, because that is what I am
And if you don’t agree, I really don’t give a damn
