THE JAE JOURNAL

March 17, 2004

Hey guys, Happy St. Pattys Day. Top of the morning to you!

This past week was a huge week. Interviewing Marlon Wayans last week and airing it this past Monday was quite a trip. Thanks to him for doing it, and also for being part of what I believe is the best movie of the year thus far, the Ladykillers.

I got to go face to face with the enemy, Mancow. This is the man who influenced me to get into morning radio because when he first came on Rock 103.5 back in the day, I thought he rocked. As time went on he got lazy, and arrogant. You could just smell it when I was in the elevator with him in the screening room. He was sprinting out the door. Although, I believe he is getting royally screwed by the FCC witch hunt taking place PJ (post Janet), I still think he could be twice the host he is now, and it is quite a shame that he has spiraled to what he is now. My biggest dream is to go head to head with him on air in a neutral playing field. I think we both would enjoy it.

Also, I have met many cool people in the last few weeks since interning at the Zone. I met Dennis Farina (he played Cousin Avi in Snatch and was in Crime Story, one of the best shows on TV ever), Lester Holt from the Today Show, David from Disturbed, Charlene Tilton from Dallas, the list keeps getting bigger. In the meantime, the Monday Morning Regime is getting better and better week after week. You have to listen as soon as you get the chance.

Now for a Mass Debate update. A concept for the set has been put into play and the design will start next week. We are also in the process of booking guests for the premiere episode, which will not be pushed back to April. Remember, when SRTV came out, we announced a September premiere in 1999, and it didn’t drop until January 2000. Also keep an eye out for a “music only” show that I will be hosting and co-producing with Alex Bozic who was one of the directors of SRTV and is in a band called Low Chain that is local.

Spread the word about the site, the shows, and Michael Jae as a whole. Many people have commented to me they miss the Ranger. I guarantee that this was a better move just to be me. You will not be disappointed when Mass Debate hits, and as I ascend into the higher ranks of the media world, I will not forget anyone who has my back on the way up. Michael Jae will be on radio soon. If you don’t believe me, just keep listening.

Peace and love,
MJ
