The State
AND NOW, a poem. Brought to you by your good friend Michael Jae.

I did not ask to be here, but here I am
Get me out of here as fast you can
Expectancy is 78, but I can leave at anytime

I see our world in a very sad state
I see increase in the death rate
I see a world that is consumed by crime

It is not that you can see the evil making us numb
We all stare at it eventually making us dumb
A picture with sound that is a make believe place
Yet it chows on the main course; the human race

We could read but instead we prefer to view
We could escape, but instead choose not too
We are drowning in our ignorance, but it is bliss

We create our heroes through this simple device
It does many unusual things, but it will suffice
The concept of independent thought is amiss

What we envy or imitate, the box makes the call
It names our enemies, it protects us all
It is the watchdog of our planet today
Yet it is the thing that helps humanity decay

It is the scapegoat for the problems today
If you want to be cool, follow its way
Your education to life awaits you here

It brings out the feelings inside our mind
It exposes the fallacies of mankind
It creates hysteria and a new kind of fear

Our lives revive around what will it do next
Will it be a cop dying or just some good sex?
Are humans superior or are they just weak?
Just ask that little box, it will respond even if it can’t speak

Thanks and bye bye. Special journal on 4th coming. Peace.

MJ
