Pizzeria Due is definitely worth the trip if you're anywhere near Chicago.  I had a stuffed pizza with double sausage, double pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and some other things.  It was marvelous!!!  Good crust, nice flavor to the meats and cheese, a sauce that is not overly sweet and very fresh ingredients.  I've lived in Chicagoland my whole life.  I was born in Chicago, and I know good pizza.  Pizzeria Due is Great Pizza!

Russia is expanding her military footprint, from Vietnam to Latin America, and it's bringing back up buried Cold War tensions.

Russian use of an airfield in Cam Ranh Bay, a U.S. base during the Vietnam War, and a Soviet navy base until 2002, is drawing concern from the Obama administration.  State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki confirmed that the U.S. is pushing Vietnam to ban Russian military aircraft from refueling there.

Marine Corps General John Kelly, head of U.S. Southern Command, said that Russia is courting Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua "to gain access to air bases and ports for resupply of Russian naval assets and strategic bombers operating in the Western Hemisphere."

Beginning last year a Russian intelligence ship docked in Havana, Cuba "multiple times conducting operations in the Gulf of Mexico and along the East Coast of the United States," he said.

Russia has moved combat aircraft into the illegally annexed Crimea, and has increased the number of long-range missions by jets.  According to NATO, Russian military aircraft have probed and sometimes violated the airspace of other European nations more than 100 times in the last year.  Just this month Russian jets used NATO ships in the Black Sea to make practice bombing runs.  Putin is flexing Russian muscle in the hopes of building another empire.

The F-22, the world's only operational 5th generation fighter, made its combat debut against ISIS/ISIL in the Middle East.  Through February 2nd the jet had flown at least 112 sorties in Iraq and Syria; and they've dropped 132 munitions.  The F-22 has guided airstrikes into Syria, disseminated large amounts of data to fellow pilots, and attacked ISIS oil refineries, buildings and transportation infrastructure.

The F-22 has been criticized because of its cost, and for its delay in entering combat.  The plane came into service in 2005 and has taken almost 10 years to drop its first bomb in anger.  It should be noted that the F-22 was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter to be used against other jets.  The U.S. Air Force hasn't faced another nation's pilots in combat since the 1999 Kosovo Conflict.

As far as cost, the Pentagon spent $67 Billion for 187 planes.  That comes to $358 Million per plane, and makes the F-22 the world's most expensive fighter.

With all that has happened in the last few years, relative to the murder of African-Americans by police -- and wanna-be police "standing their ground" -- I think that a look back at history can be instructive.  There is a level of anger now in the Black community that reminds me of the time following the Rodney King verdicts.  African-Americans exploded in rebellion then, and may be ready to do so again!
