| Body | The post 9/11 era has been one in which the defeat of terrorism seems to be a goal. "The War on Terrorism" is a term frequently heard now. Currently our country is fighting terrorists in Afghanistan, and a number of other places around the world. With the defeat of terrorists being at the heart of our current national policy --both foreign and domestic-- then why are White American terrorists left untouched? The Ku Klux Klan was formed in the 1860's to terrorize African-American in the South following The Civil War. Since then it has added a number of other racial and religious groups to its target list. In addition, America now has domestic racial/religious terrorists like racist skinheads and The Aryan Nations. There's even The Aryan Brotherhood in our prison systems. Why? If the defeat of terrorism is so important to our government, why are domestic racial/religious terrorists left to roam and terrorize freely? The U.S. Government had no problem launching full force assaults on groups like The Black Panther Party, The American Indian Movement, and other ethnic freedom organizations who were deemed to be extremists. Why have White racial terrorist groups been given a pass? Many of the Black Panthers were hunted down and murdered by the U.S. Government. The Afrocentric MOVE group was bombed from the air in a major U.S. city. Why not the same treatment for the Klan and their associated groups??? America doesn't like to deal with its racial demons, but as long as double standards such as this one exist, there will continue to be racial strife in this country. If the FBI had no problem HUNTING down groups of political Blacks and Native Americans, why can't it hunt down groups of terrorist racist Whites??? |
