Chichiri is a very talented magician who can do almost everything with his powers, like teleporting, changing his size and also create living beings.

He shares a history with Hiko. When Chichiri was 18, he had  fiance named Koran, who he loved very much. One day he saw Hiko kissing Koran. Though he was shocked, he decided not to say anything. But then Koran broke their engagement the next day. Chichiri thought it was because she loved Hiko, but it was really because she now considered herself spoiled and unworthy of Chichiri. Unfortunately, he never found this out, and he and Hiko fought by a flooding river. The ground gave way beneath Hiko's feet and he fell into the river. Chichiri grabbed his wrist and tried to save him, but a broken jagged log came down the river and gouged his left eye out. He lost his grip on Hiko's hand and he was swept away and drowned. The flood spread to the village and killed everyone except for Chichiri. After this, he went away from the place and ended up at the palace. He started wearing a magic mask so people wouldn't be frightened by the scar left on his face.

Chichiri has been cursed by an unknown person. The curse says that everyone he loves or shares a night with has to die. He himself kills the people by turning into a monster what he doesn`t remember later. However, it was shown that Seira can break that curse. So for Chichiri now being in love with Tatara, it seems to be okay.

Chichiri's Seishi Sign means "sho", "well", and is located on his right knee. He is dedicated to Suzaku.
