Born 1843 in Kentucky, the son of Dr. Hiram Lucius Little, grandson of Jonas Little, and great grandson of Captain George Little of Scotland who served in the American Revolution at South Carolina, John served in the Civil War, his pension has been posted on the Kentucky webpage, and his military registration is found online as well, John married Catherine Crigler, both being of mixed Cherokee blood, he refused the offer of an Indian Land Allotment; he was a blacksmith in Kentucky, a gun maker in the war, eventually moved to Arkansas after his wife died. All of his children joined him, including my great grandmother Lattie Cedona Little who married Benjamin Wallace Coonfield. Lattie named a daughter Luella. John's father Hiram was a surgeon in the Civil War and left Kentucky when his wife, Catherine Wright died, and went through Tennessee where he married a Rebecca, and they moved to Texas, joining other Little families. Hiram's brother Douglass Little was a wagon maker in Kentucky history, then a lawyer and a Judge. Several history books within Kentucky include our families thanks to Douglass' son, Lucius Powhatan Little, an author and a Judge..........
