As soon as the mother allows me to handle the babies, I do. I try and handle them at least 2-3 times
daily. I like friendly babies going to their new homes. Babies can usually go home between 6-8
weeks of age. Babies come with pedigree (no extra charge), bag of food, small blanket
housing kits ($110.) available.

Warning about the shampoo you use to bath your hedgehog:

When it comes to bathing your hedgehog's (or yourself) it's important to know what is in the
soap you are using because many brands contain formaldehyde, a known carcinogen.

Johnson's Baby Shampoo sold in the United States contain a hazardous ingredient even though safer
alternatives are being sold in other countries. But together, we're pushing Johnson & Johnson to change that.

A new analysis by the Breast Cancer Fund's Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has found a
formaldehyde-releasing preservative in the iconic "No More Tears" shampoo in the U.S.,
Australia, Canada, China and Indonesia, but not in versions of the product sold in Denmark, Finland,
Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the U.K.

Safer alternatives are in use in those countries, as well as in the U.S. in Johnson's
Natural Baby Shampoo?which costs twice as much as the classic formula.

Step Inside My Hedgehog Room:


When I first began breeding hedgehogs, I began in my sewing room, but I soon realized I was going to need a
lot more space! My husband Leo is an awesome carpenter and he put together a seperate room just for the
hedgies, complete with built in shelves for all their cages, and storage areas for food, linens, wheels and other supplies.
The room is temperature controlled and monitored daily, year round.
Each cage is labeled with all the necessary pertinent information.
