Bio: The Messenger was created by Publisher/Editor Jessica Stolen in 2002. The newspaper was built from the ground up after Jessica left her job as a reporter at a newspaper owned by a large conglomerate. The Messenger is one of the few remaining sole proprietorship newspapers. Since opening, we have tripled business and built a substantial subscriber list. The Messenger contains a variety of exclusive features each week including the ever popular "Musings from that Over the Hill Guy" column by former Wood Lake News Publisher and former legislator, Curtis B. Warnke.
