Nova Radio started on September 14, 2002 as a means to play a variety of brand new music before Radio Stations began playing it. We boomed in our first week, and immediately grew into a full fledged radio station. The success of the station became so overwhelming that we divided the station into 3 different stations: One for Rock, one for Pop, and one for Classic Rock.Our top 20 had an unprecedended number of listeners, with over 1,000 people requesting songs each week. In January, we went off the air to revamp the format and features for Nova Radio.
Nova Radio returned on June 23, 2003, but we needed a new avenue for advertising. After many hours of negotiating with Winamp, SHOUTCast, the RIAA, and America Online, we finally had a solution- a full fledged variety station with a club where members could vent their thoughts and opinions, upload their pictures, chat, learn of our events, radio shows, giveaways and more. Since our return, Nova has continued to grow, and we always take feedback on how we can improve.Thanks for listening to Nova Radio. We will continue to grow with you!
