My thoughts exactly- although a graphologist would probably say that your desire to impersonate your best friend's handwriting is symptomatic of something... Myself, I think that graphology sails pretty close to quackery, particularly after discovering that many graphologists peddle their services in order to allow firms to weed out "unsuitable" job applicants- just imagine being consigned to a life of unemployment because your handwirting reveals you to be a shifty, dishonest character, prone to sudden angry outbursts. It sounds like a self-fulfilling prophesy to me.

My handwriting changes depending on what mood Im in.. Can be left-leaning, right-leaning, scruffy, or quite nice.. Maybe that says something about me..

I know it shows that you're more mental discipline than me. I gave up writing as soon as I could, being a left-hander gave me an easy excuse for crap writing. Too many years typing have just about ensured that I can barely sign me name - I'd show you an example but I'm too embarressed.

It does look female to me, most blokes writing I've seen is a bit shite, tbh.

Us cuddy-wifters (or southpaws) don't *all* have awful writing... but gotta admit that that first real pen is painful. I remember the pain at school, trying to write with a fountain pen and not smudge it. I was demoted back to pencil after two days anyway, banned from using a pen until comprehensive school..

Your post brought to mind a little verbal exchange that I had with my mother when I was 14 y.o.
We were at some Canadian exhibition (maybe "The Exhibition" in Ontario--not sure) and we came upon a "handwriting analysis" machine---must have been an early computer, cos for $10 US, (a lot back then, ch-rist I'm old) one would sign her name on a computer-compatible hunk of thick paper and it would be fed into the machine in order to have a "report" on your personality spat out a few minutes later.

My mum wanted us both to submit our signatures. There was no way in hell that I was going to chance her finding out any more about my dark little 14-y.o. life, so I refused to sign.
She was miffed at me for the rest of the day.
And I was sullen.

You're going to wish you hadn't asked that - the answer is so tedious. Elemental means 'essence' is the short answer.

Well, I used to have all the links bunged together. Gets difficult to find what you want to go to if you do that.

Then I reorganised in a big quality ranking: I separated them out, firstly according to those whom I knew from other places - I know IRL everyone in the first list, apart from Lemonpillows, who I also knew from elsewhere online. The second category was blogs I was addicted to - read them every day, read their archives, etc. Then the other catogories were meant to indicate how often I visited - the third bar meant once a week, the next bunch, once a fortnight, etc.

But people on blogs change, reprioritise, go into a snit about whether they should continue blogging, etc, so I changed the link categories a third time, to de-emphasise the ranking I'd given it before.
I go to almost all the links in my blogroll each week - yeah I'm that sad. I changed the names by looking up 'essence' in a thesaurus. And that's where the answer to your question comes from.

Currently, my daily blogs are those in the first two sections (familiarity :D), those in 'matter', yours, friendly stranger, several from 'animus': such as muddyblog, cyn. Sometimes it works out that I'm gripped by a whole section of blogs, but mostly there's about two per category that I visit very very regularly.

The only odd one out is the 'big ugly link wh0re' category - this is still there because god damn angelfire won't delete it for me. Half the blogs in it have moved, and I never use it.

So the answer is: nothing. It means nothing. I would look that up in the thesaurus and change again, but I can't be bothered, and someone would be insulted.

I stole my handwriting, too! In 3rd grade, from my best friend who, I thought, had the coolest writing on the planet. Now it's more "me," but I still borrow from people when I see something cool. Not that that matters when I'm tired & I just wanna get something down before I forget it & fall asleep watching the tube.

I still steal handwriting, a letter at a time. And my handwriting changes according to mood and level of concentration required to block out distractions (like conversations people have with my back, because they think writing or reading is an invitation to be talked at).

I agree that I feel I have to be niceyniceynicey, and I'm starting to notice a pattern in men that they seem to have a very high opinion of themselves and their knowledge and skills. I've heard "better than most" come out of their mouths so often, I laugh (to myself, still being niceyniceynicey).

Is it arrogance? Confidence? Ego? Does our culture reinforce their (I'll call it) confidence while telling us girls (women) to be nice?

I let my actions speak to my abilities. I run circles around most of these blokes. Ha.

Yeah, I *hope* it's cultural, the high opinion of themselves that some really truly mediocre men have. I'd hate to think they were all just wankers, so, I'll assume its a more competitive nature/upbringing.

There's a stage in your late twenties / early thirties when you start to watch the most neanderthal sub-social stupid pi s s y men being promoted above you, and above others, and it's abso-bloody-lutely clear it's gender alone that allows them the access to the 'pick me!' club.
