No One Cares
There crouches a man,
Wealth has betrayed him.
Loneliness has replaced the broad grin of his past.
He is but a mere, insignificance to this world.
No one cares.
His jacket is torn.
And his heart as well.
Through the chilly breeze, he shivers,
All alone, without anyone.
No one cares.
No one cares that perhaps he had not wandered too far through his life.
Perhaps he had generosity and kindness neatly placed in a corner of his fragile heart.
Perhaps he wanted someone to love,
But no one wanted him.
No one cares.
He sleeps on the street.
The darkness circling his frail body,
The moon illuminating his shivering face.
People have not pondered of his existence.
No one cares.
And then, all is quiet,
As if it had never been so.
The man no longer shivers,
The man is no longer in distress,
The man no longer breathes.
No one cares.
