Two-vehicle smash-up results only in minor injuries
The drivers and occupants of two vehicles were lucky to sustain only minor injuries in a smash-up at the corner of Crown and New Garden Streets last evening.

One of the vehicles, a grey Toyota Surf, was extensively damaged with repairs estimated to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The accident involving a white goods van and the Toyota occurred when one of the two vehicles failed to stop at the major road.

Kaieteur News dated Tuesday, October 14, 2008

The impact caused the Surf to flip over and land on its hood.

The occupants of the surf, a male driver and a female passenger, were miraculously unscathed and managed to crawl through the broken rear windscreen onto the roadway after the collision.

The driver of the van also escaped unhurt.

They all remained on the scene and gave details of the accident to the Police who arrived shortly after.
FPDMC Chairman, Ms. Merlyn Udho disclosed that Government, through the GFC, will continue to provide financial resources to the new entity, based on an annual plan to be approved by Minister Persaud.
