AM I?
| Well,
you'd be pretty daft not to realise that I am Vanessa Martins. But I won't
insult your intelligence, especially if you don't know me. So here's a few
quick facts about me. Name: Vanessa Bento Taveira Martins Born: Sydney, Australia on Tuesday 24th June 1980 making me a Cancerian, on the border of Gemini, with a rising sign in Sagittarius. Currently living: Gledhow, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. Work: Assistant Manager of Nando's Restaurant in Castleford. Family: Mum and Dad (Astrid and Mario) are Portuguese, who once lived in Mozambique and then escaped political issues and settled in Australia in the mid '70s. I have two brothers and a sister from my father's first marriage - Victor, Mario Jnr and Luisa - and they too reside in Sydney. Then there's me and my little sister, Nicole. The family has extended from there as Vic, Mario and Luisa all have children, and some of them also have kids. I won't confuse you anymore. Friends: Out of fear that I'll miss someone's name off the list, I will say that I love to socialise and meet new people, which has left me with many aquiaintances right around the world. You all know who you are, and no doubt, your names will be dropped in my rants as I go. Boyfriend: Alex Osmond-Brims, also a Leeds resident. We met at our favourite Leeds bar, Mojo's, which incidently is a rock bar that specialises in cocktails - two things we both like. Alex is originally from Cambridge but moved up north for uni. Spooky fact: We are both former Mansun fans and discovered that the website I used to visit for my Mansun hit way back in 1998 was actually Alex's! Likes: Purple, music, reading, lazing about watching good movies, catching up with friends, driving long distances, kick-ass-scary rides, butterflies, aliens, the beach, travelling, speaking different languages, sitting in front of the fire, cooking, food, vodka & soda, cocktails, shots, laughing, mothering people, and the list goes on... Dislikes: People who are rude for no reason, liars, tripe (about the only food I don't eat, though papaya rates a mention too), talentless music, biting my nails (horrible habit!), needing to sleep for so many hours (imagine how much more I could accomplish if sleep wasn't so important), writing down my dislikes because it's so much harder than writing about what I do like! |
