The Gallery of Doom

Started : 03/19/03 Last Update : 09/07/04

Here we have a various assortment of pictures and stuff that I've messed around with. Some are sketches that I've scanned, some are screenshots that I've photoshopped. I've even got a snippet of an IM conversation in here, just because I think it's funny. There are some pictures that I've made in Paint and Photoshop and some pictures that I took with my webcam. I intend this gallery to represent my artistic personality and provide maybe a little bit of humour while I'm at it. I assume that you've got a little experience with the internet and know that you click on the little pictures to see the whole, bigger picture. And if your browser resizes the picture automatically, just hover the mouse over it until a little graphic appears in the bottom-right corner to make it full-sized. That said, feel free to marvel in my talent and compliment me excessively. On a last note, the thumbs have a tendency to not load in the Opera browser. If this is the case, just right click and choose "Load Image"

-This is the first picture I ever drew in Photoshop. I think it's pretty good despite that little factoid.
-My second Photoshop creation. It's a bit more colourful, and it's got more action than the first. I personally prefer the first one though.
-This screenshot comes from Squaresoft's Bahamut's Lagoon. Just to clear up any confusion, the "HP 0" means that the attack did no damage, not that the dragon has no HP left.
-Sure, I didn't draw it, but it's my favorite piece of game art from the Wind Waker. I just added the black border for effect. And hiding the ESRB rating logo that was stuck there. Oh right, tiny spoilers for those who care.
-I don't know why I put this here. It's just me half-hidden by my hoodie. So don't bother clicking. It's not worth the energy.
-Yet again, I just added a test pic from my webcam. But this one has my faithful ally the Sharpie marker in it. He he he. Markers are good for havoc. Especially ones that aren't washable...
-This one's a little more creative than the last two. I just added an arm cannon and a pretty slick helmet there for effect. Maybe I should have done this with photoshop instead of Paint.
-Hooray for turkeys! Sure it's a low-quality Paint creation, but what kind of gallery is complete without a funny picture of a turkey?
-This guy is Felix from Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It's not very good or colourful, but there's not a lot I could add without compromising accuracy. He's not a very colourful character, you know. The quality, though, is my fault.
-A funny clip from one of my many, many online conversations. Just for the record, I'm the one who went to get a snack. ;D
-A picture of FireMan.EXE from the MegaMan Battle Network series. The first one is the original sketch, and the second is the Paint-enhanced version. And yes, I know the eyes are wrong. There's no need to tell me.
-And here we have a pic of Viewtiful Joe. Like FireMan, on the left is the original sketch and on the right is the visually superior colour version. Isn't he cool?
-These ones are concept art for a game that is currently in very slow production called the Tylers. They're just some objects, characters and miscellaneous other things that might appear in the game. Nothing very interesting, but some are kinda funny.
-A collection of Kirbys dressed up as characters from some different games that I own. I did this last year during my grade 11 English exam. Guess that says a lot about my work ethic, eh?
-A picture of Bass (pronounced 'base') from the MegaMan Battle Network games. Once again, I'm aware that I made a little error on the helmet wing things, so I need not be informed. They'll be fixed when I redo it in Paint.
-This is a comic I wrote and drew about the possibility of the city getting a blimp for the local police force. I know it sounds rediculous, but we were talking about it in French class so it must be true.
-This one's a bit odd, seeing as it's got a giant pizza playing hockey. It was actually just a test to try out a new style of drawing people. I think it looks a lot better than the way I used to do it.
-Here's a robot I drew one day. I'm not sure what I called it or why I drew it. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that I think robots are pretty cool. And on the right is another picture of the robot. This one's head doesn't look so much like a toaster and there are a few other little design changes, but he's the same robot as the first.
-When I'm out of ideas I like to just draw the first word that comes into my head. In this case, that word just happened to be "chaos". So I drew a bunch of stuff that I thought symbolized chaos pretty well. And then I drew a Chao, just for the play on words.
-I built this robot out of parts of various video game characters and then put a generic robot head on top. The alien sacking another alien is just something my hand did idly while I was trying to pay attention in class.
-It was my job to cover my chemistry textbook, and doing it with white paper pretty much doomed it to be doodled on. This is the result of a semester of not paying attention in class. It's amazing what I can do when I don't wanna pay attention.
-This is a logo for a company that me and a couple friends made up for a business project in English class. I put it together rather quickly, and even though it looks very MS Paint-esque, it sure beat the pants off all the other groups' logos. I think it's the maple leaf that really brings it all together. Oh, and FOOBAR stands for "Foundation Of Organized Breaks And Recreation", just so you know.
-This here is a fantart I made for White Ninja Comics called "White Ninja Invents a Dance". I would make up an excuse for the crappiness, but it's a White Ninja fanart, so it doesn't have to be good. Or coherent. At all. All hail the White Ninja! It hasn't been posted yet...
-I like to draw things with text, and after playing the "Defend Your Castle" game far too much, this one just kind of put itself together. I decided that it would look a lot better wiht colour, so I print screened it and put it into Paint. And now it looks like a half-assedly coloured text castle. Perfect.
-The filename says it all. Every once in a while I get tired of drawing other people's characters, so I just pound out random images that pop into my head. Actually, I think I've gone over this with you before, but whatever. Not to say that this one is totally original, just look at the obvious Hellboy fist on the stick guy.
- My pride and joy. I love this picture. I don't think I've ever really drawn a cowboy before, and I think I got it down pretty well for the first try. But why a cowboy? Well, I guess I just needed a break from drawing robots and myself. Gabe's (of Penny Arcade) SAND cowboy was also a little inspiring, but they really haven't much in common, save for being cowboys.

And that concludes my gallery. Maybe some day I'll be some kind of guy who draws for a living, and maybe not. I know I'd love to be a cartoonist, and I think I have the talent to get there. As long as I can find me a good writer, I'm set for life. Be sure to check back regularly for updates. They're slow, but they do happen.
