Empire Mine Road also has some steeeeeeep ditches to the side of the road. Pictures don't do justice to how steep this incline is. It's almost a cliff. One wrong move and
you're rolling your car down that hill. A combination of luck and caution has kept me out of the
ditches. My friend was not so lucky -- he under steered through a decreasing
radius turn, narrowly missed colliding with a wooden post and a stray beam just
missed impaling both his windshield and him. Brand new Mitsubishi Lancer
too...[sigh]
