This blues bands dedicated to promoting the blues thru the blues music and blues history. The blues band hails from south of the live Pittsburgh entertainment area and the hometown of legendary piano blues musician and hall of famer Johnnie Johnson.
Dennis McClung Blues Band has shared the stage with such blues musicians as, Sandra Hall and her backup band formally of The Junior Wells Band, and BB Coleman, Memphis Tennessee blues recording artist. McClungs Blues Band has also opened up for such acts as AJ Croce (son of the late Jim Croce)and Deanna Bogart. The band more recently fired up the crowd at the 2003 Heritage Blues Music Festival with blues musicians Debbie Davies, Corey Harris, Walter Trout, and John Mayall at the 2003 Heritage Blues Festival. The bands was electrifying at the 2004 Heritage Blues Festival, as the band shared the same billing with Dave MacKenzie, Michael Burks, Renee Austin and Kim Wilson. The bands performance has also included shows at the Waterfront Summer Music Series at the Wheeling Amphitheater - the Heritage Port Amphitheater in Wheeling WV. The blues band has also be performed their live blues music entertainment in the 2003 Year of the Blues Festivals such as Heritage Music Festival in Wheeling West Virgina and the Red White and Blues Festival in Marietta Ohio. The 2003 Year of the Blues music tour in West Virginia has also included the 2003 Strawberry Festival in Buchannon, the 15th annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival Pasta Cook Off, The Black Heritage Festival in Clarksburg, the Snowshoe Mountain Blues & Brews Festival at Snowshoe Resort. Prisoner Of The Blues, which was recorded at Audiomation Studio in Pittsburgh Pa, The Dennis McClung Blues Band caught the eye of Blues Revue Magazine. The Blues Revue Magazine featured McClungs Blues Band in the 1999 January/February issue of their magazine. Blues Revue Magazine is devoted strictly to blues music and blues bands. DMBB in WVU Libraries' West Virginia Collection: West Virginia University libraries requested a copy of Prisoner Of The Blues for inclusion in the West Virginia Collection. The West Virginia Collection preserves important parts of West Virginia heritage, including music that is considered important to West Virginia's history and culture. It is located on WVU downtown campus in Morgantown, WV.
The Dennis McClung Blues Band incorporates their style of blues music into a live entertainment show. Dennis McClung Blues Band has performed at blues festivals and wine and jazz festival venues around West Virginia, Pennyslvania and Maryland and Ohio. Some notable performances were at the Colors of Fall Blues Festival at Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort in Snowshoe West Virginia , Little Yough Summer Music Festival, The Benedum Festival, Brooks Hill Festival, and The Taylor County Fair. The blues bands available for wedding entertainment and special occassions in the West Virginia and Pittsburgh entertainment area and neighboring states. This Blues band is sure to groove you.
