My brothers and sisters of the bass, I am pleased to contribute some info on metal happenings in South Africa this coming month. I got the following press release from the band Tyburn (look out for a biog and an album review – I will deliver as soon as they do!)
Formed in 2001, Tyburn have established themselves firmly on the local Metal scene, playing intense melodic metal in the vein of At the Gates and In Flames. Live they are a force to behold. Powerful, manic and in your face! With a support slot on The Haunted's tour of South Africa, they are set to destroy at The Doors Nightclub at the end of January. For more information on this Jo'burg metal 5 piece, check out their website -
www.tyburn.co.za
Also be sure to keep listening to the Night Zoo, Sundays, on 5FM to hear Tyburn's latest single, 'Judas', off New Breed Trilogy.

So there you have it – the biggest metal event in South Africa in quite some time. To close off with, Tyburn provided me with this message, which gives you an idea what to expect:
“Death Metal is for brutal people who are capable of killing, it's not for idiotic children who want to have a fun hobby for after school”.
